Echoes of the Mountain is a storyline featuring many POV Characters from the different Dwarven Races. The Echoes of the Mountain is mainly split between the three main Dwarven groups in the form of the High Dwarves of whom are clinging to the Dwarven Empire of Karak Ankor, the Sof-Dwarves of whom are all but independent but still are affiliated with Karak Ankor, and the final group being the Rof-Dwarves of whom have fully left Karak Ankor and are extremely varied in this new Independence.

The Echoes of the Mountain has five POV Characters that tell the stories of the different Dwarven people. Firstly stands Logan Bronzebeard of whom is the prince of Ekrund and his story is one of the more positive of the High Dwarves where Ekrund is having great sucess against the Skaven, and Goblins. The second POV Character is Medrig Hallbreaker of whom stands as the High King of the White Mountains of Lucerne and the massive Dwarven Hold of Karak Izor. The third is Silas Nonu of whom is a gnome of whom fights at the front line of the fight with the Troggs and begins to uncover the true purpose of the attack on Gnomerogen.

POV Characters

The Echoes of the Mountain has five POV Characters that tell the stories of the different Dwarven people. Firstly stands Logan Bronzebeard of whom is the prince of Ekrund and his story is one of the more positive of the High Dwarves where Ekrund is having great sucess against the Skaven, and Goblins. The second POV Character is Medrig Hallbreaker of whom stands as the High King of the White Mountains of Lucerne and the massive Dwarven Hold of Karak Izor. The third is Silas Nonu of whom is a gnome of whom fights at the front line of the fight with the Troggs and begins to uncover the true purpose of the attack on Gnomerogen.

Plot Summary

Chapter 1

Logan Bronzebeard is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter he stands with his brother watching from the parapets as there father is organizing the gathered army of Ekrund beneath them, and the two talk briefly very positevly about their situation in Ekrund only stopping with the arrival of their sister is travelling towards Karaz-A-Karak with his sister and father where they plan to visit the High King. From the discussion it is clear that they have just left the War of Vengeance and with victory there is much celebration throughout Karak Ankor as they learn through messages from the other Holds through the Underpass, and Gyrocoptors. The chapter ends with Ekrund suffering a large amount of earthquakes but the damage is relatively superficial to the Realm itself, but the Underpass is all but ruined and they have no means of travelling down the Underpass.

Chapter 2

Medrig Hallbreaker is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter he meets with William Lovie and many of his nobles following the Driving Tide and begins construction of Lucerne for the Lucernian humans in payment for their assistance during the Driving Tide. During the early part of the chapter William and Medrig spend considerable time together as Medrig rides a gyrocopter alongside William who rides Stragnarax and during this time William is shown the Lucernian Home Valley by Medrig of which begins the Lucernian long term goals of colonizing the Home Valley.

Chapter 3

Silas Nonu is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter he and Tinken Cogbonk are exploring the third lowest level of Gnomerogen in the form of the Hall of Gears and while they talk of the history of Gnomerogen he sees a major weakness in the Trogg forces. Using this weakness he leads a force of Gnomer against a Trogg held part of Gnomerogen in the Ninth Battle of Gnomerogen massacring the Trogg forces and leaving the route to the two lowest level within their grasp for the first time in generations.

Chapter 4

Hurdin Mordenbeard is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter he is praying alongside a man of whom we do not know the identity to at first but the two pray together all the same for some time. Eventually there prayer ends after hours and the man is revealed to be Mathew the Apostle and Hurdin is the chosen heir to the Imperial Empire of Matron and is being trained by Mathew in the deeper ways of Christianity. The two have a long discussion on several verses of the bible with one verse in the form of Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth. giving Hurdin the most questions and eventually after the discussion Hurdin comes to believe that it is the defining verse for him.

Chapter 5

Aktar Erikton is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter he travels to Dustenvale to assist in the founding of the town as a center of trade with the humans. Spending several years there he finally returns home when he is told by messengers that his uncle and cousins are dead during a mining accident leaving him the High King of Karak Mere.

Chapter 6

Logan Bronzebeard is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter he and his family are forced to travel southward through the Kings Pass in order to reach Karaz-A-Karak after the destruction of the Underpass has led to their army not being able to take it directly to Karaz-A-Karak. Arriving at Karak-A-Karak they meet with the High King of Ankor in the form of Brazen Ironflagger of whom gives them terrible news in that the earthquakes apparently went all the way across the entire World Edge Mountains, and several Holds have been devastated by these earthquakes but even worse is that in the wake of the earthquakes the southern Holds have come under overwhelming assault from the Goblins, and Skaven. Following receiving the commands of the High the army of Ekrund mainly remains at Karaz-A-Karak while a small portion moves back to Ekrund to escort the King back, and included in this is Logan of whom returns to Ekrund with his family and alongside his father prepares the plans that will be eventual counter assault across the lands of the World Edge Mountains. Logan travels through the use of a Gyrocopter northward to Karak Kadrin where he visits with King Magni Brownkicker of whom rules over the Realm of Kadrin, and desiring with all his heart to gain vengeance against the Greenskins he lets Logan know that he will send a large army of Karak Kadrin south towards Ekrund for the eventual assault on the Greenskins, and as well as this he sends his daughter Olka Brownkicker.
