The End of Darkness is the second book of the New World series, and is the second longest of the series. The end of darkness begins during the days following the Fall of Tree Hill, and tells the events that lead to William Lovie III embarking on the journey, and then the eventual overthrow of James Lovie. The story of the end of darkness ends with the events of the Battle of Berne and throughout the story many main characters are killed. The End of Darkness would be the most heavily Lucernian of the stories so far, and it made sure to point to the fact that William Lovie III. was the main character of the series.

The End of Darkness would give a lot of information of several conflicts from the point of view of Bill Lovie reading stories to his young sonWilliam Lovie III. These stories were told throughout the three chapters with James Lovie as the POV, and during this the Driving Tide would be discussed, the Arnor War, the Bloody Supper, and several other important events were foreshadowed or told in their entirety.

The End of Darkness begins with the Kingdom of Lucerne in a terrible position as the King currently in Bill Lovie has lost his mind due to fear, and madness and has alienated most of his vassals into hating him. The prince in William Lovie III. is at this point suffering from depression caused by missing a girl that he has seemingly no memory of, but sees each night in a dream, and this brings him to eventually leave the mountain capital with a group of his friends and a small military force. Traveling throughout the kingdom he comes to learn that his father has committed atrocities on a scale that no one could have ever thought possible, and he makes the decision to turn against his father's rule and lead the kingdom himself, of which he will do after he has relieved the nearly destroyed city of Tree Hill. Meeting with the king of the neighboring kingdom of Gondor he creates an alliance of which leads to the two working together to clear Gondor's besieged city of Orcs, and then together they fight and clear the city of Tree Hill of Orcs. Following this he discovers the Orcs had been allowed to enter Lucerne with the assistance of his father and after falling in love with a lady of House Scott he travels northward and reluctantly marries Bella Swan before traveling back to the capital to confront his father. Meeting his father and brother in their home he is unable to get vengeance when both use Magi to teleport away from Lucerne, but despite this he is crowned king and begins changing the situation that his father had got them into. The story ends with the final conflict between WIlliam Lovie III. and Sean Lovie and after a long argument between the two Sean kills Amber Heard II. and then is in tern killed by William of whom is devastated by her death but learns of his son and promises to care for him. The prologue is the first glimpse into the White Dragons of Lucerne and Lornax shows a desire to assist but the reasoning behind why they wont is explained when Stragnarax the ancient White Dovah details the last time the White Dovah went to the valley and helped a Lovie.

End of Darkness
Look at the world father. You were born into this land. You grew up here. These people swore their lives to you. How could you have done all of this? Look at everything you have done. You destroyed a city. Killed hundreds of good men out of fear. Is this how you want to be remembered father. Is this the world you want to leave behind? I know you were a good person once. Don't end it all here. Don't do this. For me father. For everything I supposedly mean to you. Don't do this.

Chapter One

William Lovie III.

Chapter Details

William Lovie III. is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter the The End of Darkness would start with a background of the goings on in Lucerne from William Lovie III. and during this time we went through the Britney Hemsworth, and Amber Heard romances. Waking up in the night William tries but cannot go back to sleep so leaves Blake in his bed and travels downstairs taking the lift accompanied by Gilbert, and Erik but after they reach the lift William is able to trick them and runs out of the palace using a trick he thinks about learning back with Amber and makes his way through the city towards the estate of House Martell. Reaching House Martell he climbs the window to Leven's room and entering her room she wakes when he lies down beside her and without a word he brings her into his arms and they hold eachother as William falls asleep. Waking in the morning the two begin kissing but this ends with a bang at the door and William hears Kieth yelling downstairs and without a word the two start laughing and get their clothes on going out the window running towards the caves. Unable to get out of the estate Leven helps William by tackling Ser Erik allowing William to get out of the estate but as he runs through the streets he finds Draco Highmore waiting for him and realizing he has been caught he catches his breathe, but when he looks back up his mother is standing behind Draco and puts a hand to his neck and Draco falls unconscious. Stunned to see his mother who hasn't left the top of the tower in years he walks up to her, but before he can say anything she tells him to have fun in the caves and disappears into nothing. William is pushed to move by the sounds of guards shouting for him, and despite the tears at seeing his mother he keeps running until he reaches the caves of Lucerne, where he finds the bed he has left there and lays down and tries to understand what just happened. Woken from his dreams by the arrival of Kieth Schwartz the two talk for some time with Kieth trying to make William see that hes wasting his talents hiding and doing all the things hes doing and convinces William to persuade his father to give him more responsibilities and with this in mind the two travel back to the Sky Tower to meet with Bill. Arriving back at the Sky Towers he finds Draco Highmore waiting for him and once he gets on the lift and it begins to rise he asks Draco to stop it and then he apologizes to Draco for what happened in the street, and Draco accepts his apology but when he brings up his mother Draco does not remember this saying that she hasn't left her room and all he remembers is William throwing a rock at him. Confused as to what actually happened William commands the lift to raise again and travels up the lift but asks Draco to go past his fathers office where he knows his father is, and instead stops on the floor where his mother has come to be hidden away. Getting off on the floor he goes into his mothers room and finds her sitting at a table eating a small meal, and going to sit at the table with her she makes no movement to show that she knows he is in the room with her and instead is just mumbling to herself. William attempts to get her to speak telling her that he saw her in the street and pleads with her to speak to him, but despite all his efforts she did not make any more, and he left the room crying. Going into the hallway he closes the door behind him and with tears in his face shares a look with Draco who doesn't say anything just walks up to him and William goes to him hugging him as he has come to see Draco as a father figure. Following his meeting with his father he travels to see his aunt Catherine whom he will ask for permission to take Eleonore Scarlet to the council meeting, and does this traveling to the homes off the side of the Sky Towers where he finds his aunt eating lunch with her husband Christopher, and her two daughters (his cousins) Emily, and Hanna along with there son Christopher and Catherine asks him to take a seat which he does eating lunch with them. After eating with them he goes to the garden with Catherine and Emma and the three discuss that he wants to bring Eleonore Scarlet to the council meeting and he got permission for this from his father. Travelling with Emily he goes to the House Scarlet estate where after the guards let him inside he is greeted by Lord Alexandros Scarlet II. and his son Kren Scarlet of whom he went to the academy with, and after talking about what he wants Alexandros sends Kren inside to get Eleonore while William, Emma and Alexandros stay inside and talk about the politics of Lucerne with Alexandros showing a hint of disloyalty to his father but declaring himself completely to William. Leaving the Council Meeting with Eleonore and escorted by Draco Highmore and several House Lovie honor guard William takes her to Eye of Lucerne of which she is overjoyed to see as it has been completely closed to everyone outside of a select few since the events of the Plague. The chapter ends with William waking up and for the first time that he can remember he had a good sleep and travels to see his father so that he can tell his father about his desire to marry Eleonore Scarlet, but after there discussion he returns to his room crying over what he realizes he has lost.
  • An overarching part of the chapter is William's constant dreams of a girl of whom he does not know but feels he does. This foreshadows Alice Lovie of whom during this time Alice Lovie was stuck in Forks and knew nothing of her life previously there were constant references in William`s chapter to trying to remember something in his dreams and becoming increasingly close to remembering who the girl is.

I woke as I did every other day as the sounds of the cragcrow chirped its calming tune throughout the town. Kneeling to the edge of my bed I stepped to the window and took a minute to just look out at the city. My father had once told me that each day is another day that you have been given the chance to fix some wrong. He told me that the only way you ever truly understood the world was too look out and spend a moment just absorbing it in as much as you possibly could. I mustn't have been there more then a few minutes when I felt her hand on my shoulder and sadly it was only then that I remembered Leven had spent the night.

"Do you really have to spend so much time staring at this damn window." She rested her head on my shoulder and the way she said it made it clear to me that it wasn't a jab and she understood. She was one of the few who were able to speak honestly with me, as the rest either feigned truth, or just outright told lies. The life of a prince was something that you could never take for granted as I got luxeries I knew most of the people could only dream of...but on the other hand there was a genuine loneliness to being royalty. Only a select few told you anything other then how brilliant you were, and even they could only be trusted to tell the truth to a certain extent. It was for that reason that Leven, Jasper, Dylan, and Emmett were so important to me.

"Does it bother you Levia?" I turned myself around and captured her in a brief kiss that the moment after I did I felt bad. I was supposed to be better then this. Kissing Levia was kissing the lips of someone that truly loved me, and I knew I could never give her that kind of love. It wasn't that I didn't think she was pretty or desireable. I had spent the last few days with her in my bed, and I thourally enjoyed every minute of it but...something was just missing from it. I loved her the way a brother loves a sister, which sounds terrible since I sleep with her so much, but I just never want to see her sad. So I give her what I can of myself and keep the guilt I feel deep in myself.

"It doesn't matter to me how you need to spend your mornings." She smiled and returned to the bed sitting in her robe she stared at me more seriously. "'I heard your brother gets let out today."

I hadn't thought of my brother in months. Every time I thought of him this dull headache rose in my head, and I felt a truly dangerous amount of rage. It all was still hazy, but the parts people tell me were that he attacked Amber during the night, and me and him would get into a duel down at Golden Gate. From the fact that he had been in with the nurses for months I had hurt him quite badly, but for the life of me I couldn't remember a thing. It was just a haze. "I'd rather not think on him today if that's alright." It came out harsher then I wanted it too, and I immediately moved towards her and caressed her cheek to tell her I was sorry. Her movement into my hand told me I was forgiven.

We spent the rest of the morning just laying there, and it wasn't until Draco Highmore knocked twice on the door, before departing with his routine "Good morning my prince, may I get you anything". I thanked him and told him I was fine, and the moment after I did he nodded kindly at Leven who hid her naked form under the blankets before he excused himself. Draco had served as my personal guard for years, and over that time he had come to learn the intricacies of knocking. One knock meant it was official business and I had better hurry up. Two meant friends were coming up, and I had five minutes to get dressed before they were up here. He told me that there used to be more knocks but like so many other things around here we had forgotten their purpose. It was barely five minutes later that Emmett came barging through the door, and like everything else he did the gentle bear hopped himself onto the bed barely missing Leven who punched him in the arm in jest. By this point in our friendship Jasper and Dylan had come to realize that there was usually going to be someone in bed with me, but Emmett had the caution of the bears that he was often nicknamed.

"You beat Dylan up here? You never beat him." I had gotten myself off the bed and took to sitting in a chair in the corner of the room that was all together to small for me, but for some reason made me feel closer to whatever it was that I felt seperated from.

"Well today he happened to be unaware of a certain tripping hazard that I may or may not have placed on his beloved shortcut." Me and Leven both laughed as just as he finished saying that Dylan walked in with the residue of what must have been some sort of pie on his face.

"Did you honestly want to beat me here so badly that you were willing to spend all your money to get Will's uncle to plant that damn pie." Jasper entered next laughing as well, but somehow still remaining the calm and centered member of the group through the pie and everything else.

"How do you know I had Christoper do it. I could have climbed the walls and done it myself." I imagined Emmett's massive form trying to climb the Cloud Tower and I joined in the laughter that filled the room.

"I don't even think it would be possible for you to scale the dozen floors to get in through a window. Plus you know even you wouldn't have survived the arrows they shot at you trying to climb it."

"So I cheated. Why don't you get your banking friends to send me the bill."

"They don't send that kind of bill to your sort." With that Emmett grabbed him in a joking way around the neck and the two came to fight as they so often did.

As I listened to my three best friends in the world joke around, and Leven sit on my lap as she also watched on I couldn't help but see how different the group was. We had called ourselves the Shadow Council before Edward had left. Looking at us now I realized that I hadn't thought on Edward for some time. When he was here he was my best friend. Above Leven. Above Jasper. He was my closest friend, and when he left there was just this hole that opened up in the group. It wasn't until Dylan worked his way inside that I started to feel things normalize. Looking at Dylan an Emmett I laughed at watching them wrestle. Dylan the heir to the powerful House Steinmare. Emmett McCarty the honorable son of a poor noble family. These boys just wrestling like there was nothing in the world that could trouble us. Leven moved in my arms and her sweet down to earth smile took you away from the fact that this beautiful girl was the daughter of the Martells patriarch one of my families most trusted banner men to the west. The final member of our little group leaned against the wall a small smile across his face watching as Dylan tapped the ground giving up to the much stronger Emmett. Jasper the rich son of an even richer family of bankers. You wouldn't know it from the quiet way he handled himself but he was the richest out of the group. Richest of course outside of me I suppose.

Where did I fit into the mixture. I was the prince of the Kingdom of the Valley. The Martells, the Hales, the Cullens, and the McCarty's were all something in there own right, but whatever they were was nothing compared to my family.

My family had ruled the Valley since my great grandfather and namesake William Lovie had taken the fight into the mountains and destroyed the Goblins. It's said he controlled dragons back then which allowed him to conquer all within the valley in only a few years. They said so destructive to the Goblins was he that the Dwarves of Lucerne built this very city to reward us for our actions.

For three generations we had ruled over this land, but sitting here I would almost have traded it all to just be able to go off somewhere and be at peace. Emmett, and Jasper stopped fighting at the sound of talking at the door, and I turned myself to see who was here. The door opened and in came my cousins Emma Bell, and Marcel. Emma was becoming quite the beauty and I had heard even now from her father that he was fielding many offers for her hand, but my father had rejected them all despite technically not having the right too. "What brings my cousins to my room at such an early hour of the day?" Marcel was besides my failure of a brother the only other male of my generation and for that I had always kept him close to myself. I had first grown close to him following a series of conversations with Jacob Vorn one of my grandfathers advisors who told me I needed to be constantly thinking of the relationships around me.

"My mother is sick, and I couldn't watch my father pace anymore."

"What about you Marcel?" When Edward spoke it I took a look around the room and felt this feeling of dread spread overmyself, and knew in that moment I needed to get out of this room.

"Actually Emmett, Marcel is here to join me in visiting Lord Faraday." He gave me a look of confusion clearly not knowing anything about my quick lie, but when he looked at my face he must of understood what I was doing.

"I had hoped you hadn't forgot Will." Following quickly with my lie I stood up grabbing my sword belt from beside the bed before planting a kiss on Levens waiting lips and walking to the door.

"How could I forget the Faraday's." Turning around I could see others wanted to join, and I just needed to get away for a bit. Just needed a little space to think. "I am sorry you all cannot come with us, but my father personally requested that just the two of us go." It was sad that all it took was to add my father to a silly request and suddenly the foolishness of the request was just understood to be driven by a silent understanding that my father was lost in madness.

Leven would move towards me going to kiss me but, I was just so overcome with this feeling of taking advantage of her that I simply moved my head to the left kissing her on the cheek. If she noticed she didn't say anything and without another word Marcel followed me as I left the room making my way towards the stairs "Prince William does your father truly know where you will be going today?"

"Draco, what my father knows is of little concern to me at this moment."

"I understand my prince." Draco had never been anything but understanding. He was the man who should have been my father. He would never have been capable of what I knew my father was.

"As I understand you must tell him that I left today."

"Yes my prince."

Draco was everything to this family, but above all else he was loyal. Loyality to a fault sometimes, but you never for a moment had to doubt what decision he would make. He would always follow the letter of the laws, and if that was in question he would follow the decision that was best for my family and House Lovie.

"Where will you go Will?" There was a caring behind the words, and despite knowing it would only lead to my father recalling me back I felt the desire to not lie to him.

"To be honest I think I'll just put on my cloak and hide out at the lake."

"It still reminds you of her?" I looked down at the mention of her. The girl in my dreams haunted me day and night, but I knew who he wanted, who he believed I was missing. He alongside everyone else thought I was missing Amber Heard, and the truth was that I did miss her. I missed being with her but that was different longing then what I felt for the shadow girl from my dreams.

"I think the lake will always remind me of Amber."

"You know you could write to her."

"If she had wanted me to write to her she would not have left me while I was in a coma."

"I know that she loved you Will."

"I believe you. Perhaps one day I will find out the reason, but as the days move forward it grows closer to a day when my father will present me with the name of the girl he has finally chosen to marry me too."

"Perhaps it shall be Amber."

"My father would never let that happen."

"Be safe my prince."

"I always am." I slapped him on the shoulder and moved towards the lift where Marcel waited patiently talking with Maester Boestel laughing about something. Marcel was outside of my brother the only male of our generation, and unlike my brother he was an honest person. His father had went to war with my father when the Bretonians had been overrun by the greenskin and it was believed for a long time that he had died in the fighting, but like everything else in my family that had turned out to be a lie. Marcel's father and namesake had aparently survived the Battle of Lyons that had devestated the Lucernian forces and ended the human control of France, and instead of trying to find his way back home he stayed with the Bretonians in England. He was married now with a new child. Another failure in our family.

Stepping onto the lift Draco shut the door behind me and Marcel and I felt the lift begin to lower us towards the bottom of the tower. Marcel was reading a book that Maester Boestel had given to him, and I knew he loved reading so I left him to his reading. The lowering of the lift gave me a moment to think, and as always happened when my mind had free time I thought back to the girl. After my coma it had first been nothing more then just dreams at night. A small reacurring dream I would have that felt more like memories, but easy enough to pass off as a reprecution of my coma.

As we reached the bottom of the tower the lift door opened and the guards bowed to us and grabbing Marcel by the shoulder I pulled him along. I wanted to be alone but it felt selfish to use Marcel and not atleast bring him with me so he was coming with me to the pools where I could just lay and think. Walking down the marbled pathway of the estate I could never escape the understanding of how severely overwhelming my families wealth was as it took us leaving three gates before we were truly out of the House Lovie estates. Marcel still reading his book following a few steps behind me

I walked down the steps watching the girl laughing as she skipped beside me holding my hand. I watched her laugh and felt at peace for the moment. Who was this girl that haunted my dreams I wondered. Always the same blurred face, but the voice remained as resolute as if I heard it everyday. As we kept walking holding hands I felt her stop and looked towards her seeing she had an angry look, and when I looked forward and saw Britney Hemsworth coming towards us I understood.

Britney was for all intensive purposes my girlfriend at the time, and despite continuing to sleep with Leven, and whoever else I felt like she was the one that I was coupled with. My father loved everything about her, and that fact was never kept far from my ear when I was near him, and maybe that made me like her less. I mean there was no reason to have a problem with her, and the love making with her was beyond anything I had with anyone outside of Leven....It was just something missing.

``My prince, and princess, what brings you to this part of town.`` As I looked around I hadn`t noticed we had gone so far, and I knew we were getting close to dangerous areas of the town. The unfortunate nature of Lucerne was that the northern section was called Lucerne Hold, and in this part of town the nobles and the rich were dominant. But in the southern section. In the southern section the slums had sprung up like insects. My father told me that it was the work of criminals, and that only the glory of House Lovie kept the slums even fed. I didn`t believe him for one second, but who was I to say anything when I had the ability to protect them and I did nothing. Walking into Lucerne proper wasn`t something that Draco liked us to do, but after I resisted him more then once he simply brought along more men when we entered the lower part of the city. I mean not that we were in any actual danger with Ser Draco Highmore guarding us, but it was reckless to put ourselves in this type of situation.

``I could ask you the same milady. You do not have a mighty knight guarding you as we do.`` She chuckled after I said it and the girl beside me holding my army tightly let out a sigh as if disgusted by her.

``I suppose your right on that case.`` As I went to speak the girl clasping my arm spoke up.

``In the end we were just leaving weren`t we Will.`` I knew this girl for some reason and knowing her the way my mind did I knew her calling me Will was a reminder that I was hers, and not Britney`s. Britney though looked so sad when the girl called me Will that I ignored her. Her voice was like a beacon in the worst storm you could imagine, and yet I had no idea why.

``Yes we were.``Britney`s sadness seemed to multiply until I finished. ``Would you care to join us Milady.`` Upon me saying it her eyes immediately lighted up she nearly jumped beside me taking my arm in hers. The three of us walked back towards the Cloud Towers and just talked. The conversation was fluid between me and Britney but this girl I knew so well refused to even feign kindness towards Britney. Britney told us of her home in Arnor, and the family she had left behind, and I felt a connection for a moment to this girl that I only felt for the girl on my other side. Arriving where she was staying in the Lucernian Academy grounds I took her hand in mine and kissed her goodbye.

It was a surprisingly tender thing to do when I knew I was luring her into a relationship I could never reciprocate into. But despite knowing that I couldn`t shake her beauty. As I pulled back and took in the ear to ear smile that crossed her face I knocked a pendent that held her hair in place to the ground. Moving quickly to pick it up I felt terribly as she ruined the front of her dress kneeling down in her desperation. ``I`m so sorry Britney.`` She reached out to the sound of my voice and caught my hand squeezing it tightly. When she raised her face she had tears on her face, and I felt even the girl I knew so well behind me move closer to try and comfort this broken girl in front of us. She wiped the tears from her face, before speaking and I felt the girl squeeze onto my back as well as if pulling me away from Britney.

``My mother made me this broach. She made it for me...and now...now its all I have left of Arnor.``

``You shall return home one day Britney.`` I held her cheek up and stared at her. ``I have no doubt that before you meet Glaurung you shall see your home again.`` I knew she didn`t believe in the dragon, but in this land I knew there was no choice but to accept its words or be a leper. It was such a strange thing the way people became angered by the rejection of a god that they had never seen.

``Its not seeing my home again that worries me William.``

``Then what has you frightened.`` Britney was a Numenorian, or people of Atlantis as they were known amongst the commoners. In all ways that one could see she looked like everyone else, but her bloodline meant she was near immortal in age. It was so strange to see her here looking so afraid.

``You know little of my people. I understand that we must seem almost non-human in our ways, but despite what people say we can...we can die to many things. Many among us are cursed with a disease that ages us, and eventually kills us.`` The broach coming from her mother made me realize of whom she was afraid for.

``Your mother suffers from this.``

``She does...`` I pulled her into a hug and I felt the girl behind me recoil as if struck by fire. Britney rested herself in my chest and her breathing seemed to calm down somewhat.

``I`m sorry Britney. I`m sure she knows how much you love her.``

``You know when I say it, I can barely believe it to be true but...but when you say it I almost believe it.``

I felt the girl behind me pull on the shirt beneath my armor and I turned around to look at her. Her face remained the same cloudy image as always but she finally spoke out to me in a voice that sounded more like an angel then the cloudy human before me. "Will I'm going to go inside." Before I could anwser Britney spoke.

"You don't have to go inside princess. I will go home now." Britney went to walk away and I felt torn between two people one of which I couldn't even see.

"No." She almost shouted it out. "I'm going inside. Will, please walk lady Hemsworth home." Without another word she turned and took the arm of Ser Pontus Lucerne who led her inside.

There was several moments of silence as I watched the girl walk inside and the guards close the door behind her before several came out clearly preparing to follow me and make sure I survived taking Britney home.

You know I never wanted my feelings for you to cause problems with her. I just....

"Britney I could never blame you for any of the things happening between myself and..." I could feel the words coming from my mouth but I could hear nothing. My brain couldn't feel the words. The memory was broken, and it was in this moment that I realize that I am asleep. There is no changing this. It's already happened. Just living the memory hurt me, but it would be worse to have no memory at all. It was time to play things out.

"She is your everything. What chance do you and I have if she continues to hate me?"

"She's just not used to the idea of me getting married." I wiped a tear from her cheek and she looked up at me. She gave me the same look I saw in levia's eyes. Hope. She had the same desire to marry that Levia did. I would fail both of them.

"Should she get used to it?" I could have told her the truth. I could have let her know that I didn't want to marry her. I could have told her it was time to go home. Time to see her mother again. I could have done a lot of things, but staring down at the open skin of her neck all my mind could imagine was the feel of her body beneath mine.

"I hate to sleep alone." I took her by the hand and led her into the tower where I was met by a larger then usual troop of men inside. They were yelling at each other but at my arrival they all either disbursed returning to their spots or knelt down. Looking at them I didn't recognize several so on top of the yelling I was wondering what the hell was going on here. Giving a look to Ser Podrik he came immediately over. "Please take Lady Cullen upstairs." Looking to Blake. "I'll be right up Blake. I just want to find out whats going on." She nodded and followed Podrik into the lift, and I walked towards the gathered men followed behind me by Ser Erik, and Gilbert Fouline.

Going straight towards the man who I had seen yelling when I had entered he kneeled before me. "Rise Ser" He rose at my words and I looked at this man probably forty something years old. He had a scar across his neck, and despite clearly realizing who I was I could see the slight tint of anger in his eyes despite him attempting to hide it. "Tell me what was happening here."

"My Prince it was simply a petty argument among guards. I apologize for dishonoring myself." He bent down once again bowing his head before me. Looking to the man he was arguing with I noticed it was Ser Gontiv of Schwartz of whom was a knight under the service of Kieth Schwartz my god father of sorts.

"I am your prince Ser...?"

"Ser Trenlik of Oakheart my prince."

"Of Oakheart?"

"I am a sworn knight to Lord Karlis Oakheart of Tree Hill."

"You have come from the destroyed city of Tree Hill."

"Destroyed city my prince?"

"Yes the city..." At my words Ser Erik stepped in.

"My prince do not press this issue any further. I beg of you to stop." Ser Erik was a loyal man. He had been a constant in my life for years, and in all those years I had never seen the look in his eyes before. I prided myself in reading people, but this look was so foreign to me. A mixture of fear, pleading, and sadness.

"Push what Erik?" Before Erik could continue Trenlik was on his feet and he moved to quick causing several of the house guard to grab him restraining him. "Let the man go." None of them seemed inclined to listen and the look of fear had now spread to almost all of them. "I said let him go!" I don't know the last time I had yelled at them, but it was enough to get them to let Trenlik go. "Tell me Ser the truth of why you are here."

"I am here to gain audience with the king so that I may gain assistance for Tree Hill."

"In the rebuild?" Everyone knew that Tree Hill had been destroyed by the green monsters from France known as the Orcs and following the Orcs destroying the city my father had led a large army to Tree Hill and destroyed them completely.

"My prince there is no rebuild. The city is not destroyed. It remains under siege. It never fell." My father had relieved the city. He had told me those exact words. I had been told that exact thing by so many people. I had been taught it at the academy.

"What do you mean it never fell."

"My prince. What have you been told?" Before I could respond I heard the lift door slam open and turning to look I saw Kieth Schwartz step through. I could read his look. He was angry. Angrier then I had ever seen him.

"Ser Trenlik it is time for you to be silent." Kieth raised his staff and I watched as Trenlik grabbed his throat falling to his knees. Going down to help him he opened his mouth and I could tell he was trying to speak, but whatever Kieth had done had made that impossible.

"Kieth what did you do?"

"He is under arrest. I have silenced the prisoner while he awaits his case being heard by a judge."

"Reverse your Magi Kieth."

"I cannot my prince."

"By my command I order you to reverse it!"

"I arrest him on the orders of the king. You may speak to your father tomorrow and I am positive that he will enlighten you to the crimes of this...of this man. Now while I deal with this Ser Gilbert please escort the prince upstairs."

"I'm not leaving."

"As your guardian, I do have to insist. Ser Gilbert."

"Everything was alright Will?"

Chapter Two

Alice Lovie

Chapter Details

Alice Lovie is the POV Character during this chapter and during this chapter she stands on the balcony of the tavern where she lives and details her life in Forks and the fact that she too dreams constantly of a strange blurred boy that she knows but doesn't know. Alice just like William is finding herself remembering the parts of her life with William to a larger and larger extent, and while once the dreams were all blurry now only William himself is blurry while everyone else appears perfectly. During this time she has a dream about this where she dreams of going to a tournament with the boy who held her hand walking there and then dawned armor with his friends to take part in the tournament. The dream begins with her and the boy alongside Amber, and Jasper watching Franklin Brent bully Meera Reed but before William can step in they watch Lyanna Starke move forward and defend the girl. The tournament would be heavily covered by her and detailed the growing relationship between the boy and Amber Heard II. alongside her relationship with Jasper Cullen. The Tournament named the Nortburg Tournament of 5120 would become a very important moment among the group. Waking up from her day dreams she goes downstairs where she is working as a bar maid at The White Ferret Inn a large tavern in the central district of the large city of Forks. She is happy to be distracted by the arrival of her friend Bella Swan of whom arrives at the tavern with her cousin Brody Swan and several Swan Guards, and at the arrival of Bella the tavern owner allows her to leave for a break and she goes outside with Bella where accompanied by one of the Swan Guards the two girls talk about their lives. Bella is horrified at the prospect of having to marry as her father has begun to discuss with her, and while no betrothals have been set yet she knows the moment grows closer that she will be forced to marry. Attempting to get her friends mind off this Alice discusses with her the breakdown of her relationship with Florius Novellius of whom she says she barely even thinks cares about her, and after talking it over for a time the two agree that she should confront Florius something that Alice says she will do after the tavern closes. Continuing to work she sees the arrival of James Nighting II. of whom she has a romantic interest in but he has never shown anything in return which caused her to begin her relationship which has now fallen apart with Florius Novellius. The two catch each other's eye and James comes to sit at the bar in front of her and the two begin talking with Alice surprised to find James flirting with her, and despite having not ended things with Florius, its Alice that finds herself flirting back, and they continue talking and flirting for some time before the tavern owner comes down half drunk and tells Rosalie to close the tavern. When the tavern closed Alice would leave the tavern escorted by James Nighting II. heading towards the Swan Estates where Florius Novellius was staying as he was a member of the House Swan guards and walking slowly as she doesn't want to leave the side of James they eventually part with a kiss to her cheek from James as he walks away leaving her to go to the Swan Keep gates alone. Alice would be allowed through the gates without really an questions as they knew Alice to be a friend of Bella and the lover of Florius she would travel into the barracks where she would enter his room and discover the horrible truth. When she arrived at Swan Keep she was greeted by the guards of whom led her into the back stables where Bella was spending her day, and the moment that she saw Bella she begin sobbing and fell to the ground where she was met by the arms of Bella surrounding her in a loving hug. Alice clung to Bella for sometime before she was finally calmed down enough to explain to Bella what had happened. She made Bella promise not to do anything about it, and Bella in a shocking move refused to let this go, and told Alice that the first chance she got she would be telling her father of whom she knew would have him removed from Forks. Alice attempted to make her change her mind but Bella was not moving in her opinion of what she had to do, so Alice simply clung to Bella and prayed that nothing would happen. Alice would fall asleep held by Bella and falling asleep she would dream of this different world with the blurred boy and this time she dreamed of her standing on the balcony of a large tower within a mountain and preparing for bed she would hear the door open and find the form of a boy who called her sister and then begin to look at her very strange before he lost his mind and attempted to rape her after she told him to leave. Fighting him off the noises would alert the boy in her dreams of whom this time she could make out his face and she watched as the two fought on the floor and the boy was unable to accept that he had hurt Alice, and thus the boy started to kill Tristan by strangling him. As he was strangling Tristan it was Alice that put her hand on his shoulder and whispered for him to stop. Every ounce of his soul wanted to kill his brother in that moment but he looked to Alice and saw tears streaming down her face, and he couldn't bear to add more pain to her, and thus grudgingly the boy of whom is now all but revealed as William Lovie III. did stop and Tristan ran out of the room. William would hold Alice tight as by this point guards had entered the situation, and James came to room feigning confusion over what had happened but quickly in order to keep the support of William he commanded Draco Highmore to put Tristan in chains and lock him in the bottom of the tower. It was in this moment that James saw his daughter in a different light then he had ever seen her before, but the voices in his head would keep him from revealing anything real to his children and he would eventually leave without honesty. Waking from the dream Alice would for the first time realize that she was dreaming about people who were her family, and she would wake to find no Bella so she left the room and went downstairs to get something to eat finding Bella's mother Renee Swan and talking with Renee she tells Renee about having a dream about a place and describing the Sky Towers Renee reveals that the place is the Sky Towers and lets Alice know that is the home of House Lovie. Pressing Renee more on the details of the royal family she learns that King James Lovie II. has two sons named William and Tristan, and upon hearing the name William she is overcome by a terrible headache and barely makes it back upstairs before passing out into another dream. Alice would in this dream

"What's that noise Jasper?" The words had come out before I even had time to think about. I could see a crowd of people and of the crowd I recegnized most of them. Franklin Brent the young heir to House Brent one of the most powerful of the western houses was the one yelling, but I couldn't make out who he was yelling at.

"I don't know Alice, but lets go and find out." He led me by the hand towards the crowd, and I immediatly looked around for...I looked for...I looked for the boy that meant so much to me. When I finally saw him he was hunched against a stall kissing Amber, but a quick shout to him brought his attention and he grabbed Amber by the hand and pulled her towards me and Jasper.

When he reached us he moved close to me kissing me on the cheek and giving Jasper a light punch to the chest which Jasper looked like he wanted to return but he just smiled and followed the boy as he held Amber's hand and led us towards Franklin of whom was still yelling at this point. As we reached the crowd I saw Franklin fall to the ground with a brown haired girl standing over top of him pointing her finger down.

"How do you two watch him compete." I looked to see that at some point Ashley Lerman had plopped herself on the seat beside Amber. From the look on Ambers face she was barely capable of controlling her tears let alone try to answer any questions, so event though I was scared too I answered for her.

"I cannot speak for Amber, but for myself Ashley, I only watch because if I did not my brother would know and then he would be sad."

"Are you not scared he will be hurt?"

"Every moment he is on that field I worry." I looked out at him as he was handed a helmet by Draco Highmore and couldn't help but feel that feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I stood at the doorway for a moment. I could make out laughter from within, and in that moment I knew what I would find within. I knew there was only one reason for female laughter within his room, but some part of me wanted it to be wrong. Another part of me wanted to open the door so that I could be done with Stephan once and for all.

Opening the door I found him half naked with two women laying across his body laughing as they kissed. They held him tight but the general appearance of his body was such that it was clear he cared nothing for these girls, and watching him this way made me completely confused as to what crazy part of my mind cared for this boy. As I coughed in order to let him know I was there there the two girls sprung up and clothed themselves quickly before skulking out of the room. The entire time this went on he just lay there without moving an inch. He stared at me the entire time with nothing in his eyes but the faint appearance of amusement. "Do you have anything to say?" I didn't yell it. I just spoke the words as an honest question. This was the man. No. This was the boy who had taken my virginity. This was the boy who had whispered that he loved me. Whether I still loved him didn't matter. I just wanted the truth.

"What is there to say Alice."

"Just tell me why?"

"You just. You just aren't very good in bed my sweetheart." That cut me. I felt as naked to him now as the sluts who had just run out of the room.

"If you wanted to hurt me you could have just told me this before cheating."

"We were never anything."

"Never anything! I ran at him pushing him back onto the bed and the moment my hands hit him in the chest I watched his eyes change. The look of neglect and disinterest was completely gone and replaced by a malice I had never seen before. He stood in an instant and pushed me against the wall before punching me in the cheek knocking me to the ground. I felt him grab me and pick me up with ease and before I knew what was happening he had me on my stomach with him pressed on top of me. Tears were flowing down my cheek as I felt him move against me pulling my clothes from body. As I thrashed about trying to get him off me he struck me again and moved his face to my ear whispering to me.

"You better stop moving. If you don't stop moving I don't care how much your daddy paid me I won't hesitate to kill you." At the words your daddy everything else just flew away.

"My father?" He let out a laugh before pulling the last piece of cloth that separated me from him.

"Just forget I ever said that." As he touched me down there I felt the world around me closing in. What did he know of my father? What was he paid to do? All the questions flowed out but as he prepared to violate me I knew I had to survive this. I had to stop this from happening and find out what the truth of this was. As he moved his hand down to guide him I used all my strength and pushed him backwards. As he flew off me I grabbed a pole from the corner and smacked him across the face knocking him unconscious.

I looked down at the boy who had once been my whole reason for getting up in the morning. He looked so small now. He looked so pathetic now. I moved quickly and went to his cabinet grabbing a shirt from inside and using the knife he had on his dresser I cut the shirt into strips. I put the strips and bound his wrists together dragging him to the bed, where I used the remaining strips to bind him to the bed.

With Stephan bound to the bed I grabbed some water he had on a table in the corner and splashed him across the face. When he didn't get up I slapped him in the face, and his eyes opened.

"Alice?" His voice had changed back to the charismatic man I had first met who had wooed me into his bed and heart.

"You said that you were paid by my father?" The life in his eyes went away and he closed his mouth completely as if to show that he would not speak. "Just tell me and I'll let you go."

"You have no idea what you've walked into here Alice."

"Explain it to me."

"There is nothing you can say that will make me speak. Understand this one truth. Death here or anything you can do to me would be better then what your father would do to me if I am the reason for your return."

"Return to what?"

"I have spoken all I will on the subject. Kill me or leave."

"Fuck you Stephan." As I walked out the door he let out a laugh.

"One last time for the road princess?" What was once a cute nickname just burned at my ears as I walked away from him now.

Chapter Three

Hedrik Clegane III.

Chapter Details

Hedrik Clegane III. is the POV Character of this chapter and the chapter begins with Hedrik joining his family in moving north against the spreading rebellion of a group calling itself the Seven Knights of Aerene, and in this he would lead a cavalry force heading directly towards Castle Ongrill of which they had heard had already fallen to the rebels. The chapter ends with Hedrik, Meinolf, and several of his men were walking back to the fort they had constructed from the Ongrill Keep when he is stopped on the road by a beautiful woman who tells him that he needs to go down an alley and save someone, and before he can stop the woman she disappears back into another alley. Moving to the alley she had told him to go he and his men find several men guarding the entrance to the alley but he is able to see past the men and realizes a woman is being raped by a man they are clearly guarding. No words are spoken instead a fight breaks out with Hedrik charging past the men leaving his men to handle the guards and he barrels into the raper knocking him off the girl. The two groups would briefly scuffle in the back alley, but Tristan would throw dirt in Hedrik's face in a very cowardly manner and this would allow Tristan the time he needed to make his escape. With Tristan gone the remaining men were either killed or ran with him leaving Hedrik and his men to turn to the girl to see the mess that the man had left her in, and was shocked at this amount of brutality. Her clothes were all ripped apart and her body was nearly completely exposed, and despite the circumstances he couldn't help but have his eyes linger as this was the first time he had ever seen a naked women. He checked her for a pulse and when he found it he knew she was alive so he wrapped his cloak around her and carried her back to the fort.

  • During this chapter there would be a number of auxiliary characters introduced as well as more of Lucerne becomes uncovered in the form of Lole. During Chapter Three Hedrik Clegane III. made his first venture into the story, and he would introduce the characters to the idea of evil in Sean Lovie, as well as Rachel Wood and many of the nobles in Forks and Lole. This chapter would greatly branch out and become expanded on in the Short Story Evil Mind`s of which further followed the events and detailed the happenings that led to the love affair between Hedrik and Rachel as well as the corruption and madness of Sean Lovie.

"She's my best friend."

"And your lover?"

"We have had relations, but that doesn't mean I love her as a husband should love their wife."

"I know from experience that love grows from friendship." I stood there not able to look at my father for fear I might tell him the truth. The truth was that I had spent years trying to help Accia through the problems that her Magi had brought her, but as her control of her abilities had increased her control of her mind had drifted.

"What if I told you that I don't want what you and mother have?" It seemed a normal enough reason to not marry.

"I would ask what is wrong with having a family."

"It works for you but that doesn't mean it works for me father."

"Son. Listen to me. I want you to be happy. I really and truly do."

"But?"

"We made agreements with house Potenza. Does that girl know how you feel?" House Potenza wasn't the biggest of houses but there fifty something knights and hundreds of sworn levy was nothing to ignore.

"I'm sorry for putting you in this spot but I can speak with Lord Potenza and I can work this out." I had never really spent anytime with the man but from what Accia said he was a withdrawn man with little stomach for a fight.

"That would be a solution, but before you do anything be sure you have someone else in mind."

"Thank you father."

Chapter Four

Lucas Scott

Chapter Details

Lucas Scott was the POV Character of Chapter Four and during this he dealt with the fading situation in Tree Hill, and during the first part of the chapter he spends time with Haley of whom he is at first talking with on the battlements of the Tree Hill keep with Caryl Todrinnel and they are talking about the recent appearance of food within the food storage of the caverns beneath the Tree Hill keep and while Caryl pushed the idea that this was the work of Glaurung it was Lucas that in his own mind would think to himself that this was impossible and made plans to sneak into the storage that night and observe what happened. Lucas would hide himself in the storeroom and waited all night until something happened when Morrigan entered the storeroom seemingly through a wall as she had used Magi to get inside. Watching her from his hiding place she would summon the food from her home inside the storeroom, and it was only when she was completed her ritual that she saw that she was being watched. Lucas would confront Morrigan of whom he demanded how she had entered the food stuffs of the city and why she was giving them food, and when she was truthful telling him that she was a member of a special group and had been commanded to save the city he would demand the truth not believing her. As they spoke he begin to remember bits of memories from the initial Orc assault on the city and sensing his regaining memory she would use her Magi to take him back to the events of the initial assault on Tree Hill. With his memories restored including the fact that he had been mortally wounded and saved by Morrigan he would agree to keep her a secret but demanded that the two speak every day about what was happening and that she told him everything she was planning and having longed to be closer to Lucas for months it was Morrigan that readily agreed to this. The next day Lucas Scott gives a speech where despite knowing that the food was the work of Morrigan he declares it an act of Glaurung himself to keep them alive and his speech brings about the first sounds of happiness from the crowd and over the course of the day he works about schedules where the women will help distribute the food and rebuild their broken stocks of agriculture which has sprouted up in the city. Leaving the cellar he is met in the street by Peyton Sawyer of whom once again tries to console him following earlier failure, but Lucas in her eyes sees the life that he now believes is gone and finds it painful to even look at her causing him to lash out at her and she leaves crying. Lucas wants to go after Peyton but thinks it better to have her away from him, as he believes that his path is now one of damnation and eventual death which he doesn't want Peyton to be a part of. Returning to his room he falls asleep and waking up he finds Haley Scott sleeping on the floor beside his bed, and covers her with a blanket before staring at her for a time before his sister Brooke comes into the room and interrupts his staring. The chapter ends with the drums of the Orcs pulling Lucas from working the garden with Haley and moving towards the main gatehouse he sees a very large Orcs standing on other edge of the bridge and as the Orcs bashes his shield and screams several smaller goblins step forward announcing a challenge to fight them and in return they will give the defenders a two week reprieve from noise and attacks. With this in mind Lucas volunteers to fight the Orc and despite the attempts by Haley and Brooke to dissuade him he dons his armor, the bridge is lowered and he goes to fight the Orc.
  • Alongside Lucas the appearance of the Tree Hill characters happens of which especially characters such as Brooke Scott make their entrances and they described the events of Tree Hill, and a lot of hints were made about the fact that they believed they were deliberately attacked by the Orcs under the wishes of James Lovie. The Siege of Tree Hill would be particularly bloody, and it would have a distinctly dark tone to these chapters with only the growing love between Haley, and Lucas offsetting all the darkness in the chapters.

Chapter Five

Franklin Brent

Chapter Details

In Chapter Five Franklin Brent of the western lands makes his first appeance as a POV Character in chapter Five. Franklin Brent makes the first introduction of what becomes known as the Lands of the west mainly focusing on House Brent, and their liege Lord House Ordos, but he travels to Hillsbrad and meets with House Greymane members, and other western Nobles about a serious bandit situation. When Franklin leaves his home he says goodbye to Karyl Reyne of whom we learn is his wife, and an extremely beautiful young girl of whom appears very devoted towards Franklin but he is somewhat cold to her. Franklin's father calls for Franklin to his council chambers and arriving there Franklin finds his father Franklin, his uncle Harvin, and to his suprise his brother Thomas of whom Franklin in his mind thinks on his brother with disgust. Reading the summons they realize that Franklin has been summoned to Hillsbrad by Lord Genn Greymane and at this command it is decided that he and his brother Thomas will travel to Hillsbrad to meet with the Arch Lord of the Grand State of the Westerlands. Franklin Brent during the end of the chapter goes northward with Dexter Hill with a troop of Brent forces, while Dexter Hill leads a small troop of irregular troops that were to attack the bandit forces arrayed around the area. In what became the brief siege of Tollsen Franklin Brent, and Dexter Hill alongside many other western Nobles were able to dislodge the bandits that had taken control of the castle. As they left the scene Franklin Brent discovered evidence from torturing a bandit alongside Dexter Hill that James Lovie II. had funded the bandits taking the castle, and they were simply awaiting more supplies and money before they were going to gather more strength and attack Marburg using the assistance of the Principality of Limca.

Don't end it all here. Don't do this. For me father. For everything I supposedly mean to you. Don't do this.

Entering the city I could see Dexter Hill the bastard of Lord Darius Crowley waiting leaning against a box. I assumed he was waiting for me and thus wasnt suprised when after seeing me he walked himself to my horse holding it by the reigns forcing it to a halt and by consequence the column of my forces behind me stopped as well.

It is excellent to see you Lord Brent.

You as well Dexter.

It always gives me great respect for you that you have enough respect for me to not call me Hill.

I do not blame you for your birth.

As you very well know though, many do Franklin.

I am happy to say I am not a member of that group.

As am I.

I pulled my sword out of the poor man infront of me and collected myself around the rest of my men. A quick look told me we had lost very few if anyone in the charge, but looking to Edric Maul I knew my anwser would come quicker. "Edric what were our losses?"

"Simon took an arrow to the face, and Tohmen was slashed on the neck." Only two casualties wasn't terrible considering how many of them we had just overrun, but as I looked out onto the field and saw how many were in retreat I knew this was just the beginning."Probably more injuries, but we won't know that until after the battle Milord." As he spoke I spotted the personal banner of Dexter on the hill before us, and knew I wanted to have a chat with Dexter about what was the next plan for the complete defeat of the Badgers.

"Thank you Edric."He bowed his bloodied face at me and I turned towards the rest of my men. "Follow me men." As quickly as I said it I could hear the men trotting behind me as I made my way towards Dexter Hill of whom was stopped on a hill nearbye watching the retreat of the Badgers. Nearing him several of his men rode up the hill ahead of us, and spoke to him, of which the conversation was still going as I finally reached Dexter.

"A cousin of the man identified him."

"That will make for an interesting story. Where is this cousin now?"

"He was struck down by an arrow, but with his dying words he told me Milord."

"Then I suppose this information shall remain with us."

"What information shall remain with you Dexter?" I wanted to trust Dexter. He had never given me reason to think he was a liar, but the simple fact was that everyone I met made a special point to tell me not to trust him, and that had unfortunatly seeped into my thinking.

"Look out at the retreating Badgers Frank. Do you see the man carrying the banner? "

"Yes. I see him."

"Beside him is the man leading the Badgers."

"It seems obvious that the commander would be near the banner. What sort of..."

"Yes this would be obvious Franklin, but its the identity of the man that is interesting. I have learned from a dying man that the man leading the Badgers was none other then Kieth Schwartz."

"I do not know that name."

"Kieth Schwarts is the best friend of our glorious king my friend."

"How could that be." There had never been any real truth to Dexter's story that our King had been the cause of the destruction of Tree Hill, but if his best friend was truly here then that would be damning.

"I have a feeling that the anwser to that question is further truth to what I told you of Tree Hill."

"But it just doesn't make any sence. Why would the King of Lucerne go to such lengths to destroy his own land." I saw briefly a look of disapointment across Dexter's face as I once again resisted what he was telling me.

"I told you the truth back in Hillsbrad Lord Brent. I told you the truth and it is up to you whether you choose to believe me and the facts I bring to the table. I'm not forcing anything. Believe what you will." With that he waved at his men, and they went riding down the hill towards the main force now entering the castle. I didn't know what to think right now, but I know that my father would have a better understanding of what was going on in the world.

Chapter 6

Saiden Scarlet

Chapter Details

Saiden Scarlet is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter he is standing on the wall of what is revealed to be the keep of the town of Clonvan, and is looking out over the town with Hanna. While they are spending time together at Lake Clonvan they are interrupted by the arrival of Hubert of Scarlet who tells Saiden that Lady Catherine Lovie is at Clonvan speaking with his family and he has been asked to attend this meeting. Arriving at the meeting he is shocked to be met at the door into the room by Septimia, and his brother Darion. Seeing Septimia brings Saiden back to the events of the Pantose Coup which he thinks about in pure anger as she attempts to apologize, and Darion attempts to calm him down. After several minutes of this Saiden has calmed down enough to speak to Septimia but as he berates her they are stopped by the arrival of Renault who brings them into the meeting hall. Meeting there it is not just Catherine Lovie inside but also several prominent nobles from Forks in the form of Volker Yernese, Dennis Yernese, Arthur Fordale, Edric Fordale, William Black II., and Jacob Black. As everyone sits down its Catherine that introduces a girl named Elsa Reichen. Elsa tells them about her brother Anselm Reichen who had been sent by their father to the large Rostegharion Mine to work with their uncle. While there it was Anselm that discovered the mine was using a slaves to mine, and then from the other guards there he learned it was far more widespread then that and eventually discovered the Rosenghard Slave Market which was located west of the city and contained thousands of slaves. Disgusted with what he had found it was Anselm that broke into the estate of Hunigild Raddatz where he found a letter from James Lovie II. detailing the authority of House Nighting, and House Jestife over the slavery trade as well as making it clear that slavery was now something to be sought out and not viewed as illegal. Escaping the estate of House Raddatz he was forced to hide the letter fearing it would be found on him and destroyed, and without the letter he was arrested for trespassing where he would be then visited by Elsa. With Hunigild aware that Anselm had the letter he would not allow his release and thus Elsa traveled to Hardhill where she told Edric what her brother had learned and this led to Edric traveling to Forks with her to meet with Charles Swan who then sent the group to meet with Catherine. With the story told its Catherine that the reason for Saiden being brought to them is that his marriage to Septimia will allow for him and a small force to be able to travel south without being questioned by what is an almost lock-down Rosenghard area. With Saiden unwilling to disappoint Catherine he accepts this offer but refuses to say anything to Septimia after the end of the meeting simply leaving and returning to see Hanna and Lianna. Preparing to leave for the south its Lianna that knocks on the door and greets her father with a hug which Saiden believes is a goodbye gesture but is proven wrong when she demands to come with him on the road south. After arguing with Lianna for a time about not coming she makes it clear she and her husband are coming with him whether its official or not so it would be in their best interest to just accept that. The chapter ends with Saiden arriving at Rosenghard and seeing the marketplace full to the brim with people in shackles he realizes without much doubt that the fears of Catherine have been realized.

"And that moment ended the moment you made me kill my friend."

Chapter 7

Edward Cullen

Chapter Details

Edward Cullen is the POV Character of this chapter and during the chapter Edward wakes up and from his thoughts it becomes clear that weeks have passed since the horribly awkward reunion of himself to the Shadow Council and he describes how Tanya wont speak to him, and he has really only spent time with Arnhilda, Hilary and William since his return as the others are cold to him and leave him out of whatever the group might be doing. He has grown closer to Floronius during this time as Carlisle has been so busy with his work for the king that Floronius has been left to be the father of sorts for Edward. The only positive thing other then William and Hilary in his life arrives at the door in the form of Hostella Hale who comes inside and kissing him its revealed that when Tanya refused to see him in his depression he grew close to Hostella and the two are now a couple of sorts. Instead of getting better things take a dramatic turn for the worse when Hostella drowns while following him to the water while he was swimming, and this destroys his relationship completely with Jasper, and Leven also sides against him leaving only Emmett, and William on the Shadow Council who still care for him. Emotionally destroyed Edward stays in his room for days and its several days into his self isolation that Lyanna Starke a member of the Cloud Council arrives at his room and the two have a long conversation where Lyanna is able to convince him not to give up on life preaching about the value of life through her eyes as a Dragonoph Priestess. Feeling better after the conversation he speaks with his sister of whom attacks him verbally but during this conversation she lets slip that Tanya had been coming to the estate every day trying to see him. Edward demands to know where she was now and Blake laughs that she had been sent back to the Denali Holdfast after the last attempt several days ago, and with this Edward storms out and gets on his horse and leaves Lucerne traveling towards the House Denali estates. Leaving through the gate of Lucerne he takes only his broom and heads into a small clearing outside the city range and gets on the broom taking off and heading towards the Denali Holdfast located west of Castle Cullen, and making the journey gives him lots of time to think on his feelings towards Tanya. Arriving at the Denali estates he sees Tanya walking the courtyard and they quickly notice him and he lands in front of them, and without a second thought Tanya runs into his arms giving him a hug. The two talk things out with Tanya revealing the truth that Edward had not known until now in the form of the reason everyone was so mad at him when he arrived was that they believed he had chosen to leave due to not wanting to be around them all.

"Hey guys" They all turned around at my words.

"Ed?" William looked like he almost fell over in his shock but he recovered and came over to me bringing me into a hug. Feeling his arms on me I almost started to cry as however much Hilary had become a true friend to me there was no friendship for me that came close to Will.

They carried her away and I don't know when but I fell to my knees. I felt an arm go to my shoulder and looked to see my father gently rubbing my shoulder trying to make me feel better. It didn't work. I wanted to die. I wanted to escape all the pain of it all, and I wondered briefly looking at the water if Hostella had it right. She was free of it all now.

Looking around I saw the shocked onlookers all wanting a look at the poor dead Lady that had perished in her persuit of love. They all stared at me and it brought me back to how Harry must have felt back in Hogwarts. Everyone staring at you, and as they do you know in your heart they are split in why. Some hate you. Some love you. This split broke me into pieces in this moment, and he dealt with it every day of his life.

I watched as the crowd parted and through the opening one of my closest friends in the entire world stepped out in Jasper. Holding his cousin Dorna by the arm I saw the hope leave his eyes as he saw them carrying her away. I suppose everyone wants to believe in that moment that their loved one has somehow survived the fate that awaited them. Noone runs to these scenes believing their loved one is dead. Jasper walked painfully towards me and I brought him into a hug as he cried.

It had been so long since we had been anything other then enemies, and seeing him so broken made me realize how much we all had meant to eachother. Leaving had lost me everything, and seeing the four of them now showed me how truly departed from the group I was. He cried for a few minutes while my father ushered people away, and then suddenly he pulled back staring me while wiping the tears from his eyes."Why was she here?"

I knew what he meant as he spoke the words.

He wanted me to explain to him why his beloved cousin was dead following me to the lake. Everyone knew she was afraid of the water, and everyone knew she was quite smitten with me.

"What the hell was she doing here." He moved closer to me, and I didn't need to know him well to know my anwser wasn't going to mean much.

"She must have come to see me Jasper."

"And where were you?"He held back a tear as he spoke the words, but I could see his hands clench by his side. I saw Emmett come into my vision and where I should have felt comforted by a friend arriving, I had little illusions where Emmett would side if the chips fell.

"I didn't know she was here."

"You should have though."

"Yes." He didn't wait another second. Didn't ask another pointless question. He just punched away with all the anger and resentment that I could feel he had been struggling with.

He was strong. The first punch knocked me to the ground and I felt my shoulder twist as I hit hard against a rock. Jasper moved in and hit me again one more time before my father stepped between absorbing another strike meant for me. After that the people around were able to grab him and pull him away.

I wanted to stand there and take it. I wanted him to beat me until we were back to what we were. But life doesn't always give you what you want, and as the two of us stared at eachother both crying he was dragged away all the way still screaming at me with every ounce of hate I knew he felt for me.

"Hey Ed." I looked up from my hands to see Lyanna standing in the doorway with Blake standing behind her.

"Hi Lyanna."

"I'm so sorry for what happened. I know how much you cared about her."

"I should have been watching her."

"Everything in this life happens for a reason. I don't know why Glaurung took her, but he had a reason." I felt Lyanna put her hands around me and returning the hug I cried into her shoulder. "She is in a better place now."

"Where have you been Lyanna?"

"I was praying."

"For how long?"

"Seven Days."

"We ate and drank throughout you fool."

"I know you feel alone Edward, but I'm here."

"You make me smile every time I see you Arnhilda."

"You make me more then smile Edward." I knew it was wrong. I knew that I didn't feel the way she did, and just like Hostella I was being a complete hypocrite. The truth though was that I could understand why William did what he did. He was sad. He was lonely. He was feeling all the bad things, and the only happiness he could find was in this.

"I wrote to you every month Tanya."

"I know."

"Why didn't you write back?"

"I was really angry with you. I believed what was being said."

"What was being said?"

"That you chose to go to Hogwarts. That you just used your father as an excuse to get away from all of us."

"What the fuck" The moment the words came out of her mouth I understood. Understood exactly why everyone had been angry with me. They all thought I had chosen this.

"I'm sorry I believed it. I'm sorry I didn't respond to any of your letters. I read everyone of them. I read them all and it just made me so confused about why you could say all those things and yet still want to leave. I'm so sorry Edward."

Chapter 8

William Lovie III.

Chapter Details

William Lovie III. is the POV Character of this chapter and during during this chapter he wakes in a cold sweat and unwilling to let things lie he go upstairs to his fathers room and finds his father at his desk reading a book and when William asks to see the book Bill is unusually harsh and hides the book behind a painting locking it inside a chest hidden in the wall. Speaking with his father he demands to know where Amber went, and when he asks his father Bill tells him that Amber is living Forks now, and refuses to return to Lucerne, and all of this brings up memories for William of Amber. He spends time with Leven and Emma Bell during the early part of the chapter and he begins joking about how funny a girl named Alice is, and they have no idea who hes talking about, and while he is beggining to have true flashes he to doesn't know and tries to laugh it off. Emma leaves with her mother Catherine, and Leven remains behind staying in William's bed as he finds comfort in his friend. Sleeping he dreams of the events following Alice's dreams from the previous chapter and in this dream William would stay with the girl the entire night letting her sleep in his bed for the night to keep her calm, and then in the morning his aunt Catherine Bell arrived at the tower at his request and watched over her as William needed to deal with Sean. Leaving the girl crying with his aunt William told Hayden Percy to take him to Sean, and Draco would tell him that this wasn't the time and that judging from what just happened Bill wouldn't want him to do that. William would upon his failure to convince Hayden attempt to convince Draco, but despite Draco wanting to do this he was hamstrung by his honor to the king of Lucerne. William would let it rest for a night because even in his hatred and anger towards his brother he knew that the girl that he loved so deeply needed him more then his vengeance. Returning to the girl she fell into his arms as soon as she saw him, and Catherine left them to go and find her brother and try to learn more, and the rest of the day the two would talk, and Alice would tell William yet again how much she wanted their father to just reach out and say something to her. Alice was very open to revealing that even indifference would be preferable to the way he treated her now, and this feeling only made William hate his father more. William knew that Sean would just try this again so he decided that he needed to so greatly shame Sean that he would leave the city. Speaking to Jasper Hale, and Emmett McCarty about what had happened they would come up with idea of him challenging Sean and following through on this William went to the town crier the next morning and sent out a decree for Sean to duel him the next day. William never believed Sean would show up considering how skilled with a blade that William was, and the fact that Sean had little to no skill at the art of battle. But when the day did come he stood on the steps of Lucerne surrounded by a massive crowd, and saw Sean walking down the road towards him wearing the armor that he remembered had been given to Sean by Maron Scorpian as a gift on his twelfth birthday. As Sean walked towards him Alice begged William to not give Sean the gratification that this fight would give him. She knew that for Sean the hatred of William meant that he was probably willing to give up his life so that William would have to carry the title of kin slayer around with him for the rest of his life. William wanted to listen to his sister but when he saw the scarf on her neck he remembered the fear he had that his sister was dead or raped and could not. The fight went basically as everyone had assumed it would as William and his vastly superior fighting skills brutalized Sean throughout the fight. William threw his sword away towards the end of the fight and beat Sean to within an inch of death as the crowd surrounding them cheered him on. William is awoken the following morning by his aunt Catherine Lovie of whom tells him that there has been a rebellion in the lands of south-eastern central Lucerne and she is raising a force in order to take the fight to the rebels and gain control of the situation, and she is there to say goodbye but heavily hints she wants William to convince his father to let him come, and realizing this William storms into his fathers room where he finds him standing naked staring out the window talking to himself. As William is preparing to leave for the events of south-eastern Lucerne he would return to the Sky Tower to say goodbye to his brother, but on the way is stopped by Blake Cullen of whom reveals to him that she is pregnant, and William discovers to his shock that she has not slept with anyone except for him as Jasper had never taken their relationship that far. William's conversation with Blake is cut short by the arrival of Jasper who tells him that there has been a major problem at the Tower of Solice, and that his father has asked that he deal with the situation himself as he is busy at the moment. Jasper leaves the room not realizing what he had walked in on and William stays and talks with Blake promising her that he will care for her and the baby and that she need not worry and with this the two kiss before William leaves her to lead a force to the Tower of Solace. Leave the Cloud Tower he leads a force of a hundred men at arms alongside the entire Praetorian Guard towards the Tower of Solace and while marching through the streets towards the Tower of Solace he is cheered on by people who line the streets and upon reaching the walls leading into the Tower of Solace he finds bodies lining the road and the gate has been bashed in from the inside. Entering the courtyard there are more bodies as the signs of fighting are everywhere but finally survivors as he is approached by several men carrying the sigil of House Nighting and one of them introduces himself as Ludolf Nighting and tells William that they have fought off the attackers who have fled the tower, but while talking to Ludolf its Sean that comes out of the tower surrounded by many of his men and an argument begins between the two brothers. Before their is violence Carlisle Cullen arrives with several high knights of Lucerne and sends Sean away back to the Sky Towers where he has been ordered to meet with his father and discuss his new holding as the Tower of Solace has been taken from him. Carlisle and William talk for a time but this too ends when Carlisle makes it clear that William cannot enter the Tower of Solace and that while Carlisle wants to be truthful he is unwilling to betray his king James Lovie II. The chapter ends with William travelling through the gates of Lucerne alongside his aunt for the conflict against the rebels.

  • During this chapter William continues to dream of a blurred face girl in much the same way that Alice was dreaming of a blurred face boy. During these dreams he remembered the events of the Duel on the Steps and the consequences of his loss in morality following the departure of Edward Cullen. More is detailed during this time about the relationship with Britney Hemsworth of whom by this point is long gone, but her memory and the relationship between the two was kept by Bill Lovie in terms of what had happened during the history he cannot rememeber.
End of Darkness
Look at the world father. You were born into this land. You grew up here. These people swore their lives to you. How could you have done all of this? Look at everything you have done. "Well hello my sweet prince."

"Father."

"I see you are still unhappy with me son."

"Do you have a moment to tell me a truth?"

"If this would please you son, then I promise I will listen to what you have to say and I hope I may tell you what is."

"It is quite simple. Where is Amber?"

"The whore went to Berne."

"Shes not a whore."

"My reports seem to indicate her involvement in several affairs in Berne." He picked up several papers from his desk and begin reading. "It says here she slept with her own brother." He chuckled briefly before continuing. "I see now why Glaurung gave us his luck in ending your relationship with the whore."

"Why tell stories you know I will not believe."

"I only tell you what I have been told from people I trust to deliver me the information that I need to know."

"I'm pregnant Will." I stood shocked for what felt like eternity. The words just slipped out and stood there waiting for me. My mind immediately went to our recent sex, and I hoped in that moment that she was somehow still sleeping with Jasper. I wondered whether I was the only one who she shared a bed with. "Its yours. You are the only person I've ever been with."

"What about Jasper?"

Edward is screaming inside to resist this but refuses to embarrass himself and also wants to show he is loyal to William and thus agrees without disagreement to go with Christopher. Chapter 11

Hedrik Clegane III.

Chapter Details

Hedrik Clegane III. is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter he brings the girl inside the Fort where he takes her to his lodgings which are on the top level of the tower they had constructed. When he put her down on his bed to rest she became hysterical and only when he raised his hands in submission and then left the room did she calm down. While she begin to calm down it was only the start of her problems as Lornax, and Telemerix arrived at the fort and attempted to continue their next moves despite the fact that she had not died. Hedrik waited outside the room for a time as she screamed at the top of her lungs, and whether her screaming was due to the heavy burns on her hands that she had kept hidden, or the brutal rape wasn't clear to Hedrik, but she continued to scream which caused Hedrik to panic fearing she might die or attempt to escape. Hedrik went to the outside of the room on the roof and was able to secure the lock on his window so that she couldn't escape through the window but he was unable to see in as she had apparently closed the blinds to the room. After a good hour she stopped screaming so he returned into his room and he didn't see her so he quickly ran to his window but it remained locked so she couldn't have escaped that way. Feeling hopeless he was given her location when he heard sobs coming from his study. He opened his study and found her cowering in the corner crying wrapped in what he thought was one of his blankets. Hedrik returns from the fighting at Ongrill to lole where he meets with his father of whom tells him that he needs to lead the Lole army southward into Southern Lole and support House Stillwood who has come under assault from bandits. At the end of the chapter he would take time away from the fighting and travel with Rachel Wood southward by boat to a small island. Traveling up the island's stone staircase they would reach the top of a cliff side where they he would show her off the side where you could see the smoking wreck of Tree Hill.

  • During this chapter he would introduce many of the political behind the scenes goings on including the actual scope of the invasion of Tree Hill, and would mention for the first time the events of the Plague of which was the assasination campaign launched by Bill Lovie against Rebels in the Kingdom of Lucerne.
End of Darkness
Look at the world father. You were born into this land. You grew up here. These people swore their lives to you. How could you have done all of this? Look at everything you have done. Don't end it all here. Don't do this. For me father. For everything I supposedly mean to you. Don't do this.

She reached out with her eyes closed, and smiling for a moment I took her hand and pulled her towards me. She came into my chest like it was the only place she ever wanted to be, and I held her close for a moment. I knew from the moment we started going up the stairs that this was a huge step for her, and the fact that we had reached the top would only bring her closer to realizing for herself how wonderful she was. I kissed the top of head and led her the remaining way to the edge of the cliff side.

Her eyes were still shut as I looked out into the valley beneath us. I could see the smoke in the distance that I knew was the only real truth we had that anything still lived within the old city of Tree Hill. The way the smoke bollowed, and seemingly the skies above it darkened alongside the smoke left me feeling hopeless, and I felt pity for the poor souls who might still live in the ruins.

Her face was tucked into my chest as I spoke, and I wanted her to see this. I wanted her to know that the world even  in the most scary of places still had its wonders."Look out at it all Rachel. This is a view that only a handful have seen before you, and I promice to you that I won't let anything happen to you." Her hand clenched harder against me, and as I stared at her still closed eyes I for a moment thought she might not fight the fear. For a moment I doubted her strength.

"You promice?"

"I promice." I felt her move from my chest the moment i said that I promiced. She moved ever so slowly away from me and her face angled towards the valley below.

It was a few minutes before she finally said something. "What's all the smoke from?"

I wondered if I should tame the truth for her. She was a beautiful creature but the horrors she had been through were something that had damaged her in a way that still showed on her to this day. I wanted to tame it for her, but she had made me promice long ago that I would be the one that always told her the truth. I would be the one that didn't hide from her. I wouldn't lie to her in that moment. "The monsters that did that to Tree Hill. The few men that have gone close enough to see anything of Tree Hill say that the Orcs burn massive pyres to their twisted gods, and it is these pyres that create the blackish smoke."

"It's a terrible fate."

"That it is my sweet." I felt sadness, and I didn't want her to remember this for the worst of it. I had brought her here to show her that even in the darkest of places there were things to smile at. "When I was a boy Rachel, my father used to take me here." She looked up at me as I spoke. "He used to sneak away and not tell his father as he was leaving. I remember the look on his face as he would gently lead me from my room and to the stables behind the keep. He used to be so free spirited back then."

"Your father did that?"

"He did. He would put me on the back of his horse and we would just ride. The first times we left I remember the feel of his back as I squeezed him so hard from behind. He was this brave knight to me then. Just this perfect father showing me the world, and teaching me." I took her hand and led her to the slight outlines of what had once been a fire pit me and my father had made. "When we finally got here he would put me on his back, and carry me the entire way up the stairs. I mean once I had gotten older I walked, but it was a nice memory of an easier time."

"Before burning cities, and fathers obsessed with the wrong things."

"Yes. Before life got in the way for so many people." I could look at the fire and see the image of me and my father sitting down beside it.

While they waited for the Maester witness for Elsa it was William and Elsa that would have sex in chambers of Elsa and following giving into to having sex with Elsa the two would talk over many things and even discussed how Elsa hoped their sex resulted in a child of which if it did she revealed she would not ask anything other then legitimization for the child from William. Lanna and William have a long discussion about their respective lives and the discussion of her child comes up implying for the first time that her son Termin Jest could be Williams, but this is laughed off by William and following this the two sleep together but are stopped during this by Catherine Bell his aunt of whom he has a serious conversation with about his life. Discusted with himself for this he listens to his aunt and goes to Edward and the two come together to decide its time to truly change thus marking the begining of the Journey as William could no longer take the person hes becoming alongside the increasingly depressing dreams he suffered from each night and was forced to attempt to deal with them through finding the places in his dreams of which a common place was a tavern in Forks. Confronting his father Bill would at first completely reject any idea of him travelling outside of Lucerne, as Bill understood that he was beyond hated outside of the capital, and that worried him for what people might do to the prince. In the end though he realized that William was not going to take no for an anwser and relented by sending an elite troop of soldiers with him, including Carlisle Cullen of whom William had lost all trust in. The group would travel southward leaving Lucerne through the great tunnel of the city, and leaving by horse William would on the recomendations of Edward send Leven away to the east to eventually prepare for their arrival in Stormwind, while the rest of the group travels to Forks. While they pass Nortburg they are met by Dylan Steinmare, and Radlet Scarlet of whom join them on the further journey southward.

"Where are you taking me Will?"

"If I told you then it wouldn't a surprise."

"Does Jasper ask about me Will?"

"Not that I recall."

"You know his son is almost three."

"He know's that."

"He's just willing to ignore it."

"You know his grandfather."

"Tarnide is a monster of a man."

"That he is. I always think of him as a lesser version of my father, and that does not say anything good."

"William I'm not dissapointed with you." "No one is disapointed with you. Everyone just sees you as being capable of so much more then sleeping around for a living."

"You think I don't know that. Every day I get up and there is this hole in my mind. This giant gap of memory and it tears away at me."

"Memories are just that Will. They are glimpses of something that has already happened."

"That doesn't make it hurt any less."

"Life hurts my love."

"It shouldn't hurt this much."

"Just because something hurts doesn't mean you should stop living."

"Tell me what I should do?"

"Find anwsers. Find love."

"I can't remember anything more then a blurred image, and the girl who I love ran out on me when went into a coma."

"You know thats not what happened with Amber William. That girl loved you of that there is no question."

"Then tell me why she left?"

"If she left I believe there was a good reason." "Find out that reason."

"Lanna sent she went to Forks."

"Then go to Forks."

"Father won't even let me leave Lucerne Hold."

"Make him." "Your twenty years old William. You are the prince of the Valley of Lucerne. When my brother dies you will be king. You do not need his permission to leave the city."

"I will have to tell him something more then me wanting to find Amber."

"You'll think of something. Talking people into doing what you want has never been something you struggled with."

"Thanks Catherine. For...for being the mother I wish I had. For being there for me when I didn't deserve anyone by my side. Thank you...Thank you for loving me through it all."

"I love you William. You never have to thank me for that."

"What brings you here son." "Did I summon you?"

"I came to discuss something with you."

"I hope you understand how happy I am to have you here. Please what is on your mind son."

"I wish to travel the lands of the Valley. I want to see our people, our cities. I want to be a better heir for you father."

"You know I cannot allow you to leave the capital son. Even if I believed there was a good reason for you to go you understand how dangerous it is out there."

"Father I do not understand. I have never been anywhere farther then Nortburg. I don't know what Forks looks like. I've never seen the Cliffs of Stormwind. I have no knowledge of any of our lands outside of this small corner."

"You let Sean leave the city." For a moment he paused as if contemplating my words, before his eyes returned to normal.

"I forced your brother to leave the city in the faint hope that his madness might lead to him dying out there."

"He's your son too."

"He shares my blood. He is not my son." There was a silent finality to his words.

"Let me go father. Please just do this for me." He let out a huff and walked out to sit behind his desk, and I followed behind him resting my hands on the edge of his desk. His head remained bowed, and he was rubbing his hair with a clear level of stress. He raised his head to me and I knew that one way or another this was my answer.

"If I let you go your going to have make me a deal." I couldn't actually believe he had said yes. In my mind I had always thought he would say no. I had been half planning my escape the entire time he had been rejecting me.

"Name it father."

"Your going to sit and talk with me every day. I don't mean the dinners we have here. I don't mean you coming here and seeing me when you want something. If I let you go into the dangers of this land then I want to know that when you come back you promise that you will give me a chance to have a real relationship with you."

"Father..."

"This is what I want son."

"I accept."

"I wish that you were not so desiring to take this kind of risk, but I believe that the gods will protect you." My father always kept his religious beliefs to himself, but it was a rare moment for him to so openly describe his belief in something like that. The way he spoke the word gods just sent a shiver down my spine, as there was a level of truth to his voice. It didn't matter that I believed that Glaurung was the one true god. He truly believed in his gods.

"Father there is only one god. Glaurung." I had heard of religions that believed in several gods, and to learn that my father believed in them would be shocking.

"Of course my son."

"I would like to leave as soon as possible."

"I shall summon Carlisle and we will make the arrangements."

"Carlisle is your lacky father. I will not accept him coming."

"If carlisle is not with you then you are simply not going."

"The man is a fool. I won't..."

"His involvement is not open for discussion my son."

Chapter 14

Leven Martell

Chapter Details

Leven Martell is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter Leven travels apart from the rest of the group alongside Lyanna Starke towards Stormwind on the wishing of William of whom wants one of his most trusted people to go that direction, and following the words of William she and her sisters make there way to Stormwind where they are to be met by members of House Starke. Leven alongside her sisters, Lyanna Starke and Ellia Snow would join with a group of twelve Martell men at arms of whom was sent to join them on their trip to Stormwind, as well as a group of four men at arms for House Fraizen who were led by Taelan Fraizen to also accompany them to Stormwind. The group would arrive at the tiny port of Castle Dalmatia and stayed the night there meeting briefly with Landsgrave Modius Dalmatia of whom Leven did not reveal anything she thought to be important but gave enough when she revealed that she had been sent by William. Modius was a devout loyalist to James having been at the Battle of Lyons and this loyalty led to him sending his brother Decius Dalmatia to Lucerne to find out what was happening. Leven and her party left the next morning accompanied this time by Appius Dalmatia the heir of House Dalmatia who Modius had given orders to watch everything Leven did and then come back. Arriving at the port of Littleheim south of Stormwind they would not reveal their purpose and made no attempt to meet with local leadership and instead made their way directly to the city of Stormwind. As they made their way northward it was Lyanna Starke that would be saddened by how little assistance she was able to provide for their journey as she barely remembered her former home. The chapter ends with Leven and Dorea leaving their sleeping sister Obella they went to the top deck, and while at first, they brought nothing with them it was Leven that watched Dorea grab her dagger that led Leven to also grabbing her sword. When they reached the top deck, it was completely pitch black out, and the only light was the single flame burning beside captains’ wheel. Leven would approach the captain and find him with a knife in his neck and bleeding out all over the deck. Reaching for her sword she barely got it out before a dagger narrowly missed her head and slammed into the pole behind her. Sliding to the deck she was forced to defend herself as a red masked man charged at her. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Dorea fighting against another man, and she could hear commotion as the rest of the boat clearly awoke from the fighting. Initially Losing her fight to the red masked man she would finally kill him after he tripped on one of the bodies strewn about the deck, and she would slice his head from his body before he fell into the river (The attacker would later turn out to be Franzal Nighting after Rachel Nighting revealed one of her cousins had been killed by Leven and this was the only instance that makes sense). The crew then broke through the locked door keeping them below and the other man would jump into the river to escape where two were killed by arrows fired at them but the remainder were able to swim back to their boat. Following this attack, the crew remained on heavy alert as they made their way westward and decided to stop at Castle Cerintha instead of Castle Dalmatia as they had originally planned. Arriving at Castle Cerintha she meets with lord Atrius Cerintha, his wife Lucretia Cerintha, and his son Novius Cerintha who greet her warmly and declare the castle's hospitality to her. Leven and her sisters are taken into the castle by The chapter ends with Leven Martell standing at the Tower of High Cerintha and watching as ships pull into the waters around the castle and with the army already located outside the gates she looks to Dorea and the two sisters hold hands.

  • Chapter Twelve includes the meeting of Obella Martell, and Robb Starke and the growth of their love affair of which before this they knew nothing of each other. Leven meets with Jamie Lannister as well, and during their meeting she can`t help but notice the similarities between he and his sister, and then her children.

Don't end it all here. Don't do this. For me father. For everything I supposedly mean to you. Don't do this.

I watched them ride away and was torn between understanding and anger. I understood his reasoning, but I just didn't want to leave him.

"Fear not Levia you will see your prince again." Lyanna always had a strength in her voice that I longed to have myself. It didn't mater what she was doing it just always maintained this same inner confidence.

"That does not quell the fear I feel about the journey ahead of him."

"And what about the journey ahead of us Levia?"

"Would I be stupid for saying that he matters more?"

"Your not stupid for falling in love Levia."

"I have to be a little stupid since there is little chance my love is ever returned."

"He has loved you every moment I have ever seen you two together."

"Yet it is not the same as my love for him is it."

"I wish nothing but the best for your friend, and the prince of the land in Lord William but his father isn't capable of leading anymore."

    "So what are you suggesting?"

"I am suggesting Milady that prince William when he is done in Forks should come to Stormwind and we shall do everything we can as a people to remove his father and place him on the throne." Picturing William on the throne was something I had done more times then I would ever admit to throughout my life, but hearing it out of the mouth of one of the most powerful men in Lucerne was something that I scarsley believed I had just heard.

"You understand I'v know the King for my entire life."

"I know you have seen him your entire life, but my lady what do you truly know of this man." I thought about it and I had eaten dinner down the table from him hundreds of times, and what little had spoken while kind to me had always been for the ears of William. It was no secret that he wasn't a great man, but to suggest he was a tyrant as Eddard had wasn't something I understood.

"I'm not his blood, and he places the ideals of his family...prince William above all things." The honorable Eddard Starke could barely control himself at my near mistaken use of family over William. Sadly noone even his most direhard supporter would call Bill a family man. He was devoted to Will, but to his family...I dont think so.

"I'm sorry milady but when you are forced to exclude the entirety of his family outside of the prince he is not a family oriented man. I know the king well from when we were children, and the man I knew I can say is gone. He used to dote on his sister Catherine you know." He looked at me clearly wanting that to sink in. I had heard him yelling at Willliam's aunt but I had never seen any sort of time between them that would have indicated anything more then hate." For years she was everything to Bill. Back then him and I used to ride horses for hours just enjoying the simply joy of riding. We would talk about all the things we would do once we took over our respective roles. He had such dreams back then. Then he met Lisa Tyrell and everything in his life just got even brighter."

"He loved her back then?" The fact that it was shocking that Bill loved his wife was something that struck me as odd. I had never thought of it before today, and that as well struck me as strange.

"He loved Lisa Tyrell like there was not another soul in the world. I was there at that tournament when he made her the Queen of Love and Beauty and I watched the two fall in love as they stared at eachother. It was pure love. But milady...lady Martell when he returned from Lyons he was changed."

"Changed how?" I knew the Battle of Lyons well. Thousands upon thousands of Lucernians had gone to war, and but a slimmer had returned. The destruction of the human alliance at the battle was legendary, but I had never heard William's father mention it once, so hearing Eddard say it was a defining moment in his life was shocking to me.

"Everyone who came back from that war was changed in some way. But for James. Things no longer made him laugh. Everything was dark and twisted through his eyes. He pushed aside everything that had mattered to him including Lady Tyrell." He looked out the window as if remembering some distant event that pained him.

    "Are you alright Lord Starke?"

"I'm fine milady just coming to terms with the fact that my old friend is gone was a painful thing to do, and its no easier now."

"You mean you came to this conclusion long ago?"

"Yes back during the days leading up to the Plague he was lost in madness and shouting during a meeting of the Lords and I realized it."

"The Plague milord?" As he went to speak a knock on the door brought our attention there and left the question hanging.

"You may enter." The door opened immediatly after and I saw Robb open the door. Behind him walking away was another Starke man I remember as Brandon Starke II. while accompanying him was my sister Obella of whom was most likely leaving Robbs side for the first time since we had arrived.

"Father there is a party of Lannisters entering the city who wish to meet as well with Lady Martell." Eddard nearly burst from his seat before coming around to my side of the table and grabbing my cloak from the hanger on the wall.

"I am sorry Milady but we must cut our conversation short and meet with the Lannisters." He helped me up, and despite never needing the help I knew the reasons behind it, and I took his arm and pulled myself from the chair where he would place the cloak over my shoulders.

"I thought you believed it didn't go well speaking with Lord Tywin?"

"I guess the minds of people like the Lannisters are difficult to read for simple soldiers like me." He laughed as he said it before leading me out the door following behind Robb who led us through the winding hallways and out into the courtyard.

"Where are we to meet the Lannisters Ser Robb?"

"Meetings with the Lannisters are held in the High Keep." As he said High Keep I remembered from yesterday as we had made our way to the third teir of the city, and how high up it was. I wondered why two groups such as House Lannister, and House Starke would have ever thought it was a good idea to meet in a place so easily formed for throwing people off ledges in anger. Laughing to myself brought the attention of Robb of whom looked back and smiled to himself as if knowing I was laughing at some joke I told myself.

Walking along we were joined at the gate to the third tier by a young man dressed all in red armor, and a large Lion Emblem on his chest. It wasn't difficult to know he was a Lannister but Robb walked up to him and clasped his hand in what to me looked like friendship. The man smiled at Robb briefly exchanging words before the two laughed. The laughter of the two ended when me and Eddard reached them, and behind the young Lannister was approached by an older Lannister man with a massive Blond beard.

"Lord Eddard Starke it has been a long time since I have seen you."

"It has Ser Stafford. What brings you and your nephew to the gates to meet us?" So the young man was the nephew of Ser Stafford Lannister. Thinking back to my class time that could mean it was Lucion, Lancel, or Tyrek Lannister. I doubted Lucion as he was known as Lame Lannister for his ugly appearance and slow brain, but Lancel or Tyrek were both possibilities.

Stafford Lannister stepped forwards staring at me before speaking "To meet with the beautful Lady Martell is more then enough reason to come here Lord Starke." He gave me a strange look as he said it, and I felt my arms instinctibly pull my cloak around me a little further. It was cold so the act would be seen as such, but it was meant for more then keeping the fall snow off me.

"From our last talks it didn't seem your brother was willing to make the trip."

"You must have mistaken. We left a few hours after you did, and we are more then happy to meet a representative of the true King of Lucerne in William Lovie third of his name." Well that was shocking, but if he had wanted to let it sink in he didn't wait long before he nearly immediately turned around summoning the younger Lannister with a look to follow behind him and with that Eddard followed in behind them leading us towards High Keep.

    End of Darkness

Don't end it all here. Don't do this. For me father. For everything I supposedly mean to you. Don't do this.

Everything about the morning was strange. My father had invited me to breakfest, and while at breakfest he made small talk and even joked with my cleft lipped sister Sasha that I don`t think I had ever see him speak to until this day.

As the Breakfest moved forward he asked everyone to leave, and like the perfect soldiers he had raised they got up from the table, bowed to him and then left the room. I did the same but as I reached the door he held the door with his hand and stopped me dead in my tracks. ``Come sit down Samwell.`` He spoke it with a harshness that I`m sure others wouldn`t have known was there, but after years of hearing him I knew when he was mad.

``Of course father.`` There was never a question of whether I would listen to him. it was simply a matter of what this meant for me. He didn`t wait for me to even sit back down before he begin speaking again.

``Samwell it is time for you to leave Horn Hill. Your going to join the the bastard of Stormwind in the war with Gondor.`` I went to speak but he just continued already knowing I would object. ``Your going to do this because I can`t have a fat, cowardly fool inheriting my lands. I refuse to be embaressed by you anymore.`` He leaned forward on the table staring me coldly in the face. ``So choose Sam. Will you follow the bastard born, or shall we go hunting and see if you make it back here alive.``

Following this meet and during the remainder of the chapter William and Bella spend the night together before he walks her home to visit with his friends of whom are back at the tavern.

I followed closely behind Carlisle and Edward as we made our way down the road, and moving over the last little hill I stopped the horse as I could finally see Forks in all of its glory. It was the first city I had ever seen outside of the surrounding area of Lucerne, and I don't know what I expected. From all the talk of my father I guess a burned down husk of a town screaming for my death wouldn't have surprised me at all. I didn't expect to see a white walled city with clear blue skies, and a small port attached to it. That was not what I expected to see.

"There won't really be an easy way to ever say this my prince."

"Speak honestly and you will never find a problem with me Lord Swan."

"I think it best that Carlisle leaves my prince."

"Lord Swan you understand the decision that you are making by removing me from this room." The two men shared a look as Carlisle looked like his head was going to explode from anger.

"I made an oath of loyalty to House Lovie when I was twelve years old Archbishop. I made an oath to safeguard House Lovie's control and survival."

"You will be hanged for this."

"Carlisle!" I was shocked that Carlisle would so aggressively speak to an arch lord that he had spent weeks preparing me to meet. "Leave immediately."

    "Prince..."

"Remove yourself Carlisle or I shall have you removed."

"My Prince." Carlisle silently bowed to me before giving Lord Swan a glare and leaving the room with Brody shutting the door behind him.

    "Thank you my prince."

"Tell me the truth Lord Swan." Lord Swan moved from me towards his desk where he took a seat and the way his shoulders slumped the lump in my throat just got larger.

"Its Charles. The time for formalities are over prince."

    "Speak true Charles."

"Your father is responsible for terrible evil on this land. I know this will be difficult to accept but you must hear me out."

    "Speak freely."

"The truth is I don't even know where to start. I first started looking into his work after we failed to help him kill himself."

    "Failed at what?"

"It wasn't more then a few months after his return from France that he realized he had changed. He wrote a letter to...he wrote a letter to a friend and that friend failed at helping him."

    "Helping him with what?"

    "Helping him die."

"Why did he want to die?" I knew my father was troubled but to think he would actually go through with trying to kill himself was beyond my imagining.

"He was changed by what happened in France. His brother dying. Losing that battle. It just broke him as a person."

    Chapter 18

    Chapter Details

    Chapter 19

    Franklin Brent

    Chapter Details

Franklin Brent is the POV Character of this chapter and during his chapter he travels to Marburg with Karyl Reyne where he meets with the leadership of the city in the form of his father and his fathers vassals and attempts to convince them that the bandits are funded by the king James Lovie and to give him more forces so that he might attack. Franklin stays several days in Marberg waiting for the arrival of House Ordos of whom is sending delegates there at the request of his father so that House Ordos can hear of what is happening, and while waiting he continues attempting to convinse them further about his designs. Franklin's cousin Kyle Darkwood arrives in the town by chance and Franklin attempts to convinse him to come with him to Limca but Kyle is cold to the idea telling Franklin how little there is to gain by going against the king in whatever violent attept he is making. After Kyle Darkwood leaves Franklin is disapointed in his continues failures and returns to his room where he finds Karyl waiting for him and not wanting her to see him down he barks orders at her which in his head he is disgusted at himself for the way he speaks to her but he feels a growing desire to touch her which scares him. Sleeping for several hours he leaves the room to go and find his father but is stopped by lord Deitrik Greentail of whom tells him that he has had a change of heart from his earlier refusal to assist Franklin and will send his son Estmar Greentail with a force of one thousand to support Franklin's movement and at this news Franklin feels better and goes to see Kyle but before he can its his sister Fiona who tells him that House Ordos has arrived at the city. Meeting with Coyle the day after Coyle agreed to allow House Brent to intervene its Coyle that lets slip to him that Karyl Reyne has been also moving in behind him and furthering his points to those he speaks, and Kyle Darkwood insults Franklin over the fact that he hasn't actually been convinsing anyone but actually it was Karyl. Furious at Karyl he storms to find her but she remains calm and tells him that she is his wife and she will do anything to help him, and she attempts to be physically intimate with him, but we discover that he is unable to touch her due to severe distress she touches him. Karyl attempts to console him as he breaks down as he was shown to be so weak, but he won't let her and he leaves her alone, and gathers his men. Following this Franklin Brent marches at the head of the force from Marburg he has been able to gather northwards towards the town of Limca where Dexter Hill has told him the remaining forces of the Badgers have gathered under the command of Kieth Schwartz. Meeting with the force of Dexter Hill outside of Limca he discovers the army of Limca having gathered outside the walls and sends out a scout with a white flag which leads to a meeting between the forces of Franklin and the forces of House Haushka. Meeting with Lord Swen Haushka and his brother Ottkar Haushka he and Dexter are finally vindicated when they discover that Kieth Schwartz stands with them openly revealing his presence among the army of House Haushka. Following the discussion the forces of Franklin Brent place the town under siege while the forces of House Haushka launch attempts to break the siege but are repulsed through the work of Dexter Hill whose cavalry push back any attempt to break the siege. Karyl Reyne arrives at the siege camp several weeks into the siege and Franklin is surprised when he is quite excited to see her, and for a moment he wants to reach out and touch her but before he can he is overcome by his fears and pulls back. Karyl arrives alongside several Brent Knights of whom also deliver news that William Lovie III. has arrived in Forks and that the rebellion led by Charles Swan has sent word that they want people to come there and join with Williams forces. Karyl and Franklin spend time in his tent where they discuss what has happened during the weeks of the siege and Karyl gives him advise of what he should do advising him to turn Swen Haushka against Kieth Schwartz through trickery and trusting her advise Franklin raises a white flag bringing the two sides to discussion. Meeting with the leaders of the Limca rebels including Kieth Schwartz its Franklin who is prepared to use the advise given to him by Karyl but as they speak Franklin mentions in passing that William Lovie III. is at Forks and Kieth stops the entire debate immediately. Demanding more information on this Franklin says that once the Siege of Limca is over he has been asked to travel to Hillsbrad to join the meeting with House Greymane and the Grand State of the Westerlands where their decision on whether to support William will be made. Kieth without warning orders Lord Swent Haushka to stand down and surrender, but forces favorable terms for House Haushka and the Principality of Limca stating that in return for this favorable term then House Haushka will support the prince at Forks. As the terms are agreed over its Kieth who asks to speak to Franklin separately and unable to get Elsa Tollsen to not go with him she joins them for this final talk, and going far enough into the field that no one can hear them Kieth tells them the truth of the Badger Rebellion. Elsa is held back by Franklin as she tries to kill Kieth for clearly being responsible for the death of most of her family, and then without apology or any attempt at gaining forgiveness Kieth wishes them good luck and to tell the prince what he has told them, and then he pulls out a rock and disappears into nothing. Returning to the remaining rebels they accept the surrender of House Haushka on the terms agreed upon and following this Swen gives Franklin information on the location of a Badger hideout and then has his son Ottkar join with Franklin alongside several hundred Haushka troops. The Chapter ends as the forces of Franklin Brent move towards the location given to them by Swen and travelling the road he talks things over with Ottkar who does a good job at explaining why they did what they did in supporting the King.

    Chapter 20

    Lucas Scott

    Chapter Details

Lucas Scott is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter he pulls the sword from the second Orc after his seventeenth duel with the Orcs and walks silently back through the gate to the sounds of roaring cheering from the defenders of Tree Hill. Going silently through this he went to the top of the keep of Tree Hill, and as he stood there he contemplated ending his life. He thought about everything he'd be giving up, and everyone that he would miss but the pain in his soul was just so loud that he didn't see a possibility of getting out of it. In this moment Haley who had been following Lucas as she was the only one who knew how truly emotionally damaged Lucas was becoming made her way on to the balcony with Lucas and simply stood beside Lucas. While this moment was happening Morrigan was standing beside them as she had made herself invisible and was watching the changing mood between the two with utter pain, as she too had fallen in love with the troubled prince of House Scott. The two stood in complete silence for many minutes until finally Haley reached her arm out and touched Lucas's arm, and as she moved her hand on his arm they both knew this wasn't a friendship style of comfort. In that moment he looked over at her, and the two seemed to finally accept what had changed between them, and they proceeded to have sex on the balcony of the keep tower. Following this moment of acceptance on the balcony the two attempted to stay simply friends for the sake of Nathan but after only a few days of attempting this they found themselves giving into lust again and again until it happened more then once a day every day. As Lucas goes to his room to go to sleep he is exhausted but his exhaustion ends when he sees Morrigan sitting at a chair in his room and talking to her she tells him about a horrifying development that she has uncovered in the army of Orcs besieging the city and reveals that she has been controlling the Orc leader to keep Tree Hill alive. She reveals that she is being confronted by a sister of hers named Gerlinde Jocic and her sister has raised an army of Goblins and Orcs that she is using to bypass Morrigans Orc army and attack the city of Tree Hill. Morrigan says she tried to fight her but Gerlinde fled to a stronghold of the goblin Chigdrask north west of the city and she needs Lucas's help in defeat her sister at the camp of Chigdrask and despite his still skepticism towards Morrigan he agrees to gather men to him who will join him assisting Morrigan. Lucas goes to the Scott Keep and meets with several of his friends in the form of Loras Tyrell, Oliver Slinde, Lucas Oakheart, and Jake James. As he takes the group to the food storeroom he is prepared to meet with Morrigan but instead they find Caryl Todrinnel and Morrigan and it is then they Caryl reveals that she in fact not Caryl but actual an angel of sorts named Roswita and that she will portal them inside the camp once Morrigan is able to get inside. Morrigan portals out of the room and as they wait for nearly an hour for her they talk with Roswita and learn that she found Carly dead outside of the city but wanted to help so she used Magi to take on her physical appearance and has been helping ever since in whatever way she can. After almost two hours Caryl's portal stone begins pulsing and she opens the portal and walks through and Lucas follows behind her and then the rest of the group and they find themselves inside the ruined keep of Oliver's family causing an enraged Oliver to let out a tear at what has become of his families home. Finding themselves there they follow Morrigan into fighting against Gerlinde and her goblin defenders and they are able to defeat the goblins killing them to a man and they watching as Gerlinde and Morrigan fight a horrifying battle joined by Roswita and after Morrigan takes a horrible wound to her shoulder its Roswita that delivers a glancing blow to Gerlinde knocking her down. As Gerlinde attempts to escape once again she would be stopped by Morrigan of whom was able to use Magi to lock her away into a Soul stone and thus keep her secret alive. A badly wounded Morrigan explains that the army of Chigdrask has already left for Tree Hill and remains behind with Roswita but portals Lucas and his forces out of the keep and back to Tree Hill where they rush to the keep and set of the warning alarm and then making their way to the walls where they find the archers there already firing on the rushing army. Following the defeat of the Orcs attacking during the raid Lucas returns to the cellars where he meets with Morrigan and the two after talking for a time share a brief kiss as Morrigan attempts to console Lucas who breakdown for the first time over what has happened. The chapter ends with Lucas Scott leading a group of his five most trusted knights and they travel beneath tunnels under Tree Hill following Morrigan and reaching the end they kill there way through several houses controlled by Orcs making their way towards Typhon Castle and once inside they find Jaime Typhon and after the shock of seeing him alive Morrigan tells them he is coming into the city and will attempt to assassinate Dan Scott to which Lucas grudgingly accepts must happen if they want to survive.
    • At the end of the chapter the Raid of 5123 occurs as the Orcs launch a massive assault on the walls and are nearly able to defeat the defenders, but even in defeat they deal immense casualties to the defenders.

    Brooke Scott

    Chapter Details

Brooke Scott is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter she is in Tree Hill during the siege, and by this point she further documents how bad things have gotten in the city, and dreams of her life before the siege and how nice things were back then. She also details more of what happened the day of the siege, as well as the events since the fall of the city including the fact that for the last significant portion of time the Orcs have done little more then wait out the ever dwindling number of survivors while constantly attempting to kill Lucas through duels. Trying to find peace during this time she spends a lot of time by herself and visiting one of her favorite spots she instead of finding peace finds Julian, and Lindsay Baker kissing and she watches this in shock as they are brother and sister, but eventually Julian departs leaving Lindsay behind and when Brooke goes to leave Lindsay speaks to her revealing she knew that she was there the entire time. Going inside and talking to Lindsay she discovers the girl that was so angry all that time ago is now nearly mad as Lindsay questions whether Brooke is trying to get between her and Julian and despite saying she is not Lindsay proceeds to threaten her and reveal that she murdered her sister, and parents after they tried to get between her and Julian. Revealing to Brooke the events of the murders she attempts to strike Brooke but Brooke is able to dodge the attack and get out of the house running to the keep to find her brother who she knows will keep her safe. Instead of finding her brother she finds her father of whom questions her as to what is wrong and in a moment of weakness she reveals the truth and instead of protecting her Dan threatens Lucas's life if she reveals what happened with Lindsay and following this she runs to her room locking the door behind her and crying. Waking up the next morning she goes to the kitchen to find breakfast but while walking in the halls is grabbed from behind and pulled into the basement where she is confronted by Jaime Typhon of whom reveals himself as a survivor of House Typhon and the two speak for some time with Jaime demanding that Brooke look deeper into what happened at Tree Hill and she agrees wanting to help Jaime and work against her father. Led on by the plotting of Jaime she gets him inside the inner keep where he tells her is the evidence of what happened to get the Orcs inside of the city, and entering the room he tells her he apologizes and then ties her hands and puts a knife to her kneck. Using the threat of killing Brooke he is able to get himself past the inner keep guards and into the hall room with Dan where Nathan is also present, and Jaime threatens to kill Dan if he doesn't hear the truth but to the shock of Brooke and confusion of Jaime Dan just moves behind his desk to grab a bow from the wall and as Jaime screams to know the truth Dan just begins laughing causing Jaime to let go of Brooke and charge at Dan knocking Nathan to the ground, but as he gets near Dan he is struck in the leg by an arrow by Lucas who drops the bow and goes to Brooke while Nathan restrains Jaime who continues screaming. Now restrained Jaime begins openly talking about what he knows and the fact that Dan Scott had sealed his family into the keep as well as known about the coming of the Orcs, and while speaking he is struck through the face by an arrow as Dan kills him. Following the killing of Jaime its Dan who is confronted by Lucas who knew Jaime as they were of similar age and as Lucas and Dan's fight gets worse Dan's guards arrive and at Dan's orders take Lucas into custody putting him a cell to cool off leaving Dan, Nathan, and Brooke alone. Without Lucas to protect her Brooke is overcome by fear and all the questions she has in her head over what Jaime told her she is unable to ask and allows her father and brother to force her silence again using the threat of violence against Lucas to further put fear into her. Waking up in the morning Brooke looks for her brother and discovers that Lucas has been sentenced to two years in prison, as he is also being tried for conspiracy alongside five other knights who Dan is blaming for being part of a movement to attempt to kill him, and leaving Dan she goes to the cells where she wants to find Lucas and his knights in the cell. Stopped from entering the cells themselves by guards she is told that no one can visit Lucas as he has been labeled a threat to the people alongside his knights she breaks down crying and is comforted by Lord Primus Amatius who is in command of the cells. Primus sends away several of the guards leaving only himself and his son Lucius Amatius and then after talking over things with Brooke Primus lets Lucius take her into the cells where she will be able to talk to Lucas one time but he lets her know that this wont happen again as Primus is being stripped of his command in favor of Marcelet Rivel who is a Dan Scott loyalist. Brooke meets with Lucas and the two talk for some time with Lucas forcing Brooke to promise him she will take charge of the new duels and as they continue to talk she is stopped by the arrival of Tristan Gencien of whom as a loyalist to Dan forces her out of the room. Keeping her promise Brooke goes to Loras Tyrell who Lucas had suggested but finds that Loras has been placed on house arrest following what happened with Lucas as he is seen as too loyal to Lucas and thus she goes to the next person Lucas suggested in the form of Thomas Sifflet and finding him fishing at the lake its Brooke who speaks to him and convinces him to take on the role of the defender of Tree hill. The chapter ends with Brooke watching from the tower holding hands with Haley Scott as Thomin Sifflet crosses the drawbridge and takes part in the first duel since the imprisonment of Lucas Scott, and Brooke lets tears flow freely as she stands as watches.

    Chapter 23

    Alice Lovie

    Chapter Details

Alice Lovie is the POV Character of Chapter Eighteen and during this chapter she is watching James Nighting talking with an older man and listening in she hears them discuss him having to do something, but she cant make out what the details are. James enters the tavern and Alice goes downstairs and at first is very excited to see him but this changes when she sees his face and realizes that he is sad, and wanting to comfort him she goes to give him a hug which he falls into. After some time talking Alice realized that James was there with orders to kill her and realizing this the two argued over this with Alice playing to his emotions and eventually causing him to come to the realization that he would not be able to kill Alice, and with this moment his father James the Elder smashed the door down using Magi knocking down his son and leaving him unconscious. Alice would see this and rushed to the side of James the younger where after seeing that he was alive she and James the elder spoke for some time with James the elder hinting that her brother was on his way to the city but was unwilling to reveal his identity despite the fact that he was going to kill her. As James the Elder prepared to kill her with a killing curse it was james the younger that gained consciousness and stopped his father by stabbing him through the back killing him instantly and leaving James the younger emotionally broken. Alice would attempt to console him but he refused her touch and picked up his father preparing to take him away but before he left he forced Alice to promise that when the time came she would lie and say that she had killed his father after he had kidnapped her from the tavern and taken her to a forest. Alice would follow him riding on the horse with him as they took his fathers dead body out of Forks and into the forest west of Forks, and it was here at a small cabin that James would take her to stay for a few days to make the story make sense. Arriving at the cabin at night it was Alice and James that discussed everything that had happened and Alice attempted to get James to forgive himself, but she would fail and despite both describing their love for the other it was James that left her to sleep alone while he told he would be in the main room and they could talk the next day. While Alice slept that night an emotionally distraught James Nighting II. would leave her without a word riding southward towards Tree Hill where he planned to return to his family and try and find some kind of peace over what he had done, but he did leave behind a letter that detailed how much he had loved her and his involvement in what she would eventually realize was her memory loss. Alice would wake in the morning and discover he had left and after reading his letter she would ride back to Forks on the other horse where as she arrived she was stopped by a troop of cavalry led by Nerio Swann and Nerio knew her as Alice was a friend of Bella Swan and thus he revealed to her that the prince of Lucerne William Lovie III. was the leader of the group that was being surrounded by the people of Forks, and as she looked down into the group and saw him she felt a wave of memories crash over her which caused her to pass out. Alice would wake up back in the tavern where she was being held by Rosalie, and Bella while Donnel Swann stood at the doorway, and upon waking up Rosalie and Bella both started crying as they were both afraid that Alice wasn't going to wake up, and after calming down the two it was Alice that told them that she remembered who the boy from her dreams was. Before she could tell them that she knew the boy was William she was overcome with a terrible headache as the memories overwhelmed her and while she hid the severity of the pain it was Flavius Elvorix that came to the door and ordered Rosalie to return to work and despite Alice attempting to stop this he overruled her and then demanded them leave Alice's room which again they did reluctantly. has chemistry with Jasper but can`t shake the memory of the golden haired prince she saw when she was hiding in the bell tower with Bella. As the day goes on she, Jasper, Emmett, Rosalie, and Edward are joined by Bella and William of which the arrival of William places Alice into a near comatose state of horrible headaches and she has to hide in the back room where she is joined by Jasper. When she eventually comes out she finds the group has been joined by several others including Hedrik Clegane, and his brother Mathew. During that night Alice says goodbye to Jasper and he goes to his own room while she returns to her room in extreme pain, and finds herself unable to sleep. Unable to sleep the entire night she goes back into the tavern where she finds Jasper once again and the two walk out into Forks and she uses all the stealth she thinks she has to finds clues about the prince, and while Jasper eventually finds out shes probing for information he isn`t jealous as Alice says she feels a familiar type relation with the prince. That night she sees William once again but this time she does not suffer the same type of pain, and at the end of the night he kisses her hand, and the two look at each other but before they can say anything William is pulled away by Bella and she leaves to her room to find what she hopes is the first sleep in days. Finally falling asleep she dreams of the boy again, this time the last night she was in Lucerne is the dream she has but this time the boy turns towards her and calls her sister and she sees the face for the first time, and its William. The memories of her final conversation with her father come back to her as she remembers her father taunting her about how she was going away and there was nothing anyone could do to protect her. Immediately getting out of bed she runs to find William in his tent inside Swan Keep, and finds him running down the street towards the tavern. Stopping him the two reconcile and the beloved siblings are reunited.

    End of Darkness
Look at the world father. You were born into this land. You grew up here. These people swore their lives to you. How could you have done all of this? Look at everything you have done. Don't end it all here. Don't do this. For me father. For everything I supposedly mean to you. Don't do this.

It hit me like a punch to the face, and I let out a scream which led Jasper to grab hold of me. The pain was exructiating, but Jasper held me up, and opening my eyes to thank him I saw the prince. He was holding hands with Bella and despite the fog and pain of my headache I knew he was the reason for my pain.

"Please Jasper get me out of this room..."I pleaded with him, and he didn't need another word as he led me by the arm into the back room of the tavern. As he nearly carried me I saw the look of displeasure from Girardo but at this point I didn't give a damn what he thought of me. Consequences were now. He was irrelevant to me now.

As Jasper rested me down on a chair I felt myself almost fall off he didn't catch me and without a word he took me into his arms and sat down against the wall where I fell neatly into his chest. Laying there nestled into his chest the pain lessened, but thinking of his face it seemed to flood back to me, and as if feeling my pain Jasper begin rubbing my back. Between the sweeps of his arm on my back, and the pain in my head I felt something else. Memories flooded back to me as I lie there. Memories of the boy I spent every night dreaming of. Memories of the family I couldn't quite place. I found myself out of the tavern and standing without pain in a room of white marbled walls and tapestry of dragons adorning the walls. Walking down the hall towards the yelling I knew my dreams were slipping into reality but this felt different. I remembered where I was. This wasn't a room with White Marbled Walls and Dragon tapestries. This was the fourteen floor of the Sky Tower, and this was my home. Shock flew through me but I kept following the dream moving towards the yelling.

"Do not think for a second that because you are my blood that I will not hesitate in ending you."

"I didn't mean..." This was Bill Lovie. This was the King of Lucerne, and I knew exactly who he was to me now.

"Speak up Sean. Be a man."

    "I...I..."

"You are a disappointment of the highest regard Sean. Tell me how your brother William could be so perfect and you could be such a failure." There it was. The name I had struggled to hear for months. The face I had struggled to see. He walked into the dream and looked exactly as I remembered him now.

"Father it is time to stop berating Sean. He is your son."

"Let him stand up for himself William. Do you even comprehend William the things that this little monster has been doing."

"Father please do not..."The fist flew out and Sean fell to the ground. I could see William go to do something but as he moved he stopped and looked towards my direction. A smile crossed his face as he looked towards me and as I stood there I could not feel he was looking at me. He kept smiling despite it all and made his way towards me.

"Sweet sister I told you to stay in your room." The words spilled from my mouth as I realized what this was.

"Will I was scared. I didn't want you to get hurt." This wasn't a dream. This wasn't some illusion. Wasn't something my mind had created to keep me sane in this terrible city. These were memories. William was my brother. Bill was my father. I was Alice. I am Alice Lovie.

While the group was preparing to ambush the forces of House Jestife it was one of Sean's men named Tobin of Sean who came out and begin beating one of the slaves which caused Ellen Page to break from the plan and fire and arrow killing Tobin and causing the Jestife forces to barricade themselves into the front of the mine. Sean's forces would believe that the Jestife's had killed Tobin and thus refused access to the lift which eventually after the Jestife's lost two men to archer fire from the Anti-Sean forces would cause the Jestife forces to flee from the mine entrance and instigating a fight with the Anti-Sean forces. He gives a handwritten letter for Benjamin to show to the people so that they know he is the one to be listening too.

    Franklin Brent

    Chapter Details

Franklin Brent is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter he travels to Hillsbrad for a meeting there about William, and during his stay there grows close to Demi Hill, of whom also befriends his young wife Karyl Reyne of whom we see is loving towards Franklin but he remains somewhat distant. Demi Snow having been abused much of her life is easy pickings for Franklin Brent who gains her trust easily and from this is able to learn many things about Hillsbrad and the council, and among other things she reveals the Worgen problem in House Greymane as well as dealing with the violent nature of her older brother Dexter Hill.

Entering the hall early allowed me time to think about what I planned to do. I had come to the understanding sometime during the trip here that there was no way I could ever return to the Crowley Estates, or Crowley Hold or else I was dead. My brother would eventually get his wish and be left alone without my father, and when that happened his madness would be unleashed. Andrew entered shortly after I did, and I felt terrible as he smiled at me so enthusiastically. I loved him, surely I did, but today my main purpose for him was menipulation, and that made me feel lower then ever.

Slowly the other lords entered the hall. The lithe Gregor Voner entered flanked by several of his vassals, and squatted on the seat to my right. Gregor Voner had always been friendly with our house, and my father always told me to be as nice to him as possible as he hated the Godfreys. Apparently when Gregor was young his little sister had been raped and murdered, and the only person that appeared to be guilty was Groevin Godfrey and he too escaped justice after winning and killing Gregor`s older brother Aron in a duel. The Godfrey`s had after this exiled Groevin, but this was followed by insults from the Godfrey`s which basically have created a distinct hatred between the two houses.

When Leyton Mountain entered being escorted by his heir Baelor and his frightening looking daughter Malora. I had heard that she and Leyton spent nearly all of their days locked away in their hightower, and from the looks of her she hadn`t seen the outside world very much of late.

Franklin Brent entered flanked by his little wife Karyl Reyne of whom held onto him as if he was the last thing in ths world. Franklin brought in tow with him Benjemin, and Dennis Ordos of which I along with everyone elce in the room found beyond hilarious. Dennis had long been the Lord of House Ordos, but the wealth possessed by House Brent always meant that the kind of diplomatic insults that might doom another vassal were simply ignored for fear of what House Brent might do.

The final Lords to enter were Laehera Rholler, Vincent Godfrey, and Kieth Darkwood of whom waited at the door and when the four Greymane gaurds walked in holding the door I knew we were in for Genn Greymane. Held to his feet by Liam Greymane the Elderly Lord of Hillsbrad was seated at the Arch Lord table and when he raised his hand to speak the meeting would begin. ``My Lords...``Liam whispered to him briefly, and he continued.``My Lords, and Ladies I thank you all for arriving so promptly.`` The ever present grovelling begin with Kieth Darkwood of whom bowed his head from the table and thanked Genn for his hospotality of which when Genn did not anwser or look it was clear he hadn`t heard and so Liam said the your welcomes neccessary.

Genn appeared to enter some kind of trance, and when this happened Liam moved himself away from his father as if to avery people`s eyes and begin speaking`` My honored Lords and Ladies we are here today to speak of the direction that the lands of Hillsbrad shall move in when it comes to the issue of William Lovie III. I, alongside my family have come to the conclusion that we shall support the young prince in his endevors. I do come here commanding the support of our vassals, instead I ask that we all make a decision and let it be known that all were heard.`` Liam sat back down beside his father of whom he put his hand onto the top of his fathers hand before raising his other hand to direct others to speak.

Vincent Godfrey spoke first. ``I may offer but one small issue. While I do not disagree that what we have heard of this young prince is atleast more promicing then his father, I do wish to point out that others have attempted to move against Bill and they now sit in shallow graves.``

``That is no reason not to support William. We all must die at some point, so why not die supporting the rightful king.`` Franklin spoke with a conviction and a admiration that was promicing when it came to my hope that the Greymane`s would get much support.

``The fanatism of youth is something that brings about its own host of dangers young Brent.`` Osbert Konie the vassal of Godfrey spoke in support of his liege. It was interesting to see the Kronies sitting with Vincent Godfrey while the Godfrey`s other vassal in the Voner`s was on the other side of the table. Clearly the long history of conflict between the two houses was alive and well.

Franklin made the right choice when he ignored the attempted goating by Osbert. ``I come with the words of my father and thus all of House Brent behind me that we shall support the crown prince William Lovie III. Any who do also follow I beg to ask. How can you accept a king that murders your family. Just a few short years ago he murdered hundreds in targeted assasinations. Our Liege Lord lost many members of his family for doing nothing more then what everyone at this table should be jumping at doing.`` Franklin`s words were met by smacks on the table of support by many of the Lords at the table.

``You speak as if you understand the world so greatly child. You have been alive for less summers then anyone at this table and yet you speak for all of us now.``

``I speak for my liege Lord Genn Greymane, who has led us wisely and justly for years and was forced to endure the deaths of so much of his family for just asking questions.`` He looked around the table at each person before continueing. ``Lord Godfrey I think you forget to much that you are the vassal of House Greymane.``

Alice Lovie is the POV character of this chapter and during this chapter she greets the arrival of Emma, and Hanna Bell of whom are accompanied by a heavy contingent of men-at arms and knights of House Skane, and House Scarlet and she discovers that they remember her. Also among the group arriving is Adela Aven, and Erica Steinmare of whom has been brought to become the lady in waiting for Alice, and the three talk briefly with Adela showing herself as a kind girl who is clearly very happy to be a lady in waiting for the princess of Lucerne. Erica is more reserved at first but eventually opens up as Alice gently touches her arm in a flirtation manner which Erica responds to with a smile. Finding herself basically in a moment having gone from a tavern girl to the princess of Lucerne she remembers her times with the two sisters, and they spend the day together, which is joined by Fredrik Highmore of whom seems to be quite close with Emma Bell. Leaving behind Emma for a time she and Hanah go to the palace grounds where she meets with Charles Swan of whom has basically become the driving force behind the northern Lucernians joining William at Forks, and the two form a quick friendship as Charles is beyond happy with what they have agreed to join him in. Following her meeting at the Forks Palace she meets with Charles, and Daniel Faraday of whom have asked for a meeting with her, and realizing once again her power now they ask for Emma's hand in a betrothal and she sees the value in this but asks that they allow her a chance to speak with Emma about it with both of the Faraday's are very accepting of. Returning to Emma she finds her cousin all smiles and when she presses her cousin on what she believes to be a relationship with Fredrik Highmore of whom has been flirty with her throughout the day, and she tells Emma about the offers from Charles Faraday about marriage and is surprised when Emma agrees to this betrothal. While this is happening she also is flirted with by Dylan Steinmare, and when the two are alone she questions him on this and he tells her they were quite flirty before she left, and apologizes to her, but she begins to remember him and instead of accepting his apology she gently rubs his hand. While speaking on the rise of the west to Williams side due to the movement of Franklin Brent she receives a raven from William asking her to travel to Stormwind and see the city, and she takes Emma Bell with her. In the letter they are asked to be escorted by men of House Scarlet and Martell of which it is determined should be Saiden Scarlet, and Wilheim Martell. She does not realize the main reason she is recalled is the fact that William believes she will be killed if left alone in Forks after hearing so many bad things about his father. Arriving in Stormwind she is met by a detachment that includes Lanna Lannister of whom the two have a conflict over their shared affection for Jasper, and when she introduces her baby to Alice she heavily implies the child is Jasper's while rubbing her pregnant belly and implying the same about the pregnancy.

He led me back the back into the garden as if he has been here a hundred times before. There was a slight movement to his hand of which I tried to ignore as I walked because everything was still hazy but knew he was a friend of William's. He stopped leading me, and I looked at him for the first time since he had taken me away from Emma, and Hanna.

"It seems its just you and I alone at last Alice." He moved towards my lips with his, and he nearly kissed me before I pulled back. "Whats wrong Alice?" There was genuine confusion in his eyes.

    "You tried to kiss me."

"It wouldn't be the first time, my sweet Alice."

    "I don't remember that Dylan."

    "Oh.

    "I'm sorry."

"No don't apologize to me. I just thought when you remembered your family that I would have come back too. It was my mistake to push this on you, I just...I guess I just missed you."

"I'm sure I will come to remember everything with time Dylan, but right now I remember being with Jasper."

    "I guess that's fair."

    "I am sorry."

"You never have to apologize to me Alice. I spent the last years of my life feeling an emptiness, and the moment whatever your father did to all of us was lifted I felt that feeling go away. You did that for me Alice." He looked so vulnerable as he spoke, and despite the smile on his face I knew I had hurt him.

I had hurt him, and that hurt me so I tried to ease both our pains by reaching out to his hand which hung tightly against his side, and I held it.

    Chapter 31

    Edward Cullen

    Chapter Details

Edward Cullen joins William in meeting with Carlisle Cullen of whom describes to the group the true details of Gondor, and the House Elessar members of whom they quickly discover have lived a very tough life. The brief historical background of Gondor is given to William by Carlisle Cullen under the direction of Jacob Vorn of whom wants him to know the damage that has been done to Gondor over the years so he can better understand why they trust with such difficulty. Following this the group (Jasper Hale, Edward Cullen, Eddard Starke, and Tyrek Lannister) follows William into the meeting with King Aragorn Elessar of whom has several of his own men in the meeting ( and while at first the meeting goes poorly as Aragorn is understandably mad about the recent Gondor-Stormwind War William is able to convince him of his own sincerity and desire to see the Gondor-Lucerne relationship reborn. Over the course of the conversation he watches as the prince has a positive reaction from the increasingly jaded king of whom promises to side with William if they assist Gondor in relieving the City of Minus Ithil. Leaving the tent following the discussion he watches Jasper be met by Lanna Lannister and witnesses the two discuss there shared love for each other, and he does not reveal to her his time with Alice. Jasper following the departure of Lanna would see Edward watching him and Edward tried to avoid a fight by walking away, but Jasper followed him out of the camp where he walked into the snow outside the walls of the camp and the two get into a fist fight which ends only when Marcel Lovie II. arrives and breaks the two up. Edward and Marcel walk together and talk about the things in Marcel's life and he is proud that even among everything that fell apart with William his cousin Marcel has turned out so well. Following this Edward returns to his tent where he finds Arnhilda Highdor sitting on a chair outside his tent speaking with Thomas and seeing her brings a true smile to his face and without thinking he brings her into a hug. Taking her inside he starts crying without even thinking, and she rubs his back as he cries finally for the first time since he last saw Hillary he is able to talk to someone without fear. Talking with Arnhilda the two discuss Magi and Edward talks to her about all the things he wants to learn so that he can be of better help to William, and Arnhilda reveals that she had been talking with Jerelyn Shadbolt who had all but mastered small portal work. Leaving his tent they go to tent of Lord Brunor Shadbolt as they know Jerelyn will be there and after having Brunor talk to them for some time they are able to get Jerelyn to go with them as the three leave the camp and go to the outskirts where they find a secluded clearing to have Jerelyn shown them her Portal work. Using the portal they travel to Brill where landing inside the courtyard of the Brill Keep they are nearly attacked by the guards until Hilary comes outside and calms the situation down. Taking Hilary back with them to the camp they once again veer wildly off track and land this time in a lake, and are forced to walk back soaking wet to the war camp.

``I know that your still angry with me but let me tell you about the people your going to deal with.``

``Don`t speak to us as if we know nothing about Gondor.``

``You know exactly what you should know for your age. You know that Gondor is a peaceful but worn down kingdom to the east of Lucerne that is populated by a strange non-Germanic human population. You know King Aragorn Elessar is the second of his name, and that he has three children of which one will be there tomorrow. But do you know anything real.``

``We do not have all day father you may have to tell us what you can in a short time.`` Even Edward was rushing Carlisle now.

    ``Gondor was founded...``

``Honestly Lord Cullen...`` Emmett said it with a slam of his fist on the table causing a laugh to spring out from Dylan.

``Yes Emmett this is all very important.`` He stopped glaring at Emmett and begin looking at the three of us again. ``Gondor was founded following the Downfall of Numeron of which you know somewhat about. Gondor as time went on lost more and more ground to the Orcs of Mordor, and these Orcs are led by the Dark Lord Sauron. This Dark Lord convinced many of Gondor`s allies to turn on them and this all culminated in the Gondor Civil War. Brother fought brother, and Gondor bled for years."

"Who were these brothers that turned the Gondorians"

"Many turned on Gondor while there back was down, and it is this fact that makes what we did to them all the worse."

"How did they defeat Mordor back then?"

"In the end Aragorn`s father the king before he was, would die alongside many in his family and thousands of others until finally Mordor was defeated. Aragorn was crowned king following that great victory. That was some two hundred years ago.`` I could see they hated Carlisle but he was right. They had spent so much of their time angry at the world over a thing they couldn't even remember, and one of the consequences was their learning.

``So he is hundreds of years old.`` Carlisle looked shocked that William was asking him something, but he quickly pushed the feeling away and jumped at the opportunity to once again teach William.

``You knew the Numenorians were long lived, but what they do not speak of in our lessons are the fact that the Numenorians are more then long lived. They do not die by any amount of years passing them by."

    "So they are like Elves?"

"There ancient ancestors were the franks to our west. They were human slaves brought to the once great island of Atlantis, and while there they were the slaves of the High Elves of Atmer. From this slavery they mingled with there elven garrison creating the group we know now as the Numenorians."

"How is that an immortal race has fallen so far then father?"

"It is important to know son, that Gondor while ancient and strong fights against enemies on all sides, including ours.``

``So they are besieged now by Mordor.``

    ``They are my prince.``

``So what help can they offer if they are as weak and defeated as they are.``

``They may be low, but they can still muster thousands of men at arms and cavalry. If we help them we may erase the damage of your father`s war against them many short years ago.``

"Do you we truly need there troops so much?"

"The main thing they may bring to us my prince is something not many have thought of."

    "That would be?"

"They maintain a strong relationship with the Sindari Elves of High Forest. Enigmatic and completely isolated from the world the Gondorians are said to be the only people who can actually contact them without fear."

``So you are the son of James Lovie, King of the Valley. Second of his name`` He said it in a calm voice, but there was malice behind the kindness he was trying to put forth. I could see one of them men sitting at the table behind him glaring at me, and I knew this was a bad start. The men at his table wore intricate armor, and thinking on the earlier conversation with Carlisle I wonder how many of the men sitting at the table of King Elessar had lost family, or at the least people to my fathers war.

``I am.`` He stood silent so I moved forward towards him and tried to keep the conversation going. ``Your reputation comes before you King Elessar.``

``Does it.`` He turned his large frame away from me walking towards the table to pick up an emblem from the table. ``Tell me young prince. What do your stories tell you about who I am.``

``I must tell you truthfully your grace.``

``Honesty would be a nice change from your people.``

``I could tell you I have read of your victory in your civil war. I could say that I knew you had three children. I could say all of that and it would be true.``

``But what shall you say of me, prince.``

``I will say what I think matters about you. We have learned that you have fought the enemies of humanity for your entire life. You love your family. You love your people. These are the only things that define who you are to me.``

"Then let me speak honestly as well prince."

    "Please."

    "Why are you here?"

"I'm here because our two nations spent generations as friends."

"We didn't choose to end that friendship. You attacked us while we were fighting these enemies of humanity as you so correctly call them."

"Your grace. I have no words to describe the pain that I feel over what my people did to yours. I have been taught lessons on the conflict. I have spoken with veterans. I have heard stories from noblemen. None of that can explain to me the one simple question that I have. Why. Why did we do it."

    "Greed, and madness."

"I come here with a heavy heart your grace. I was raised to protect my people. I was trained to lead. Born to do something great in this world. I want to make this right. I want you and I to find a way to look past the madness and greed of those who I cannot condone."

"You ask me to look past it?"

"You don't know me your grace. You have no reason to trust me. In fact you have every reason to mistrust me based on what my people have done. But the truth is that the day grows late. The darkness rises, and unless we find a way to look past what has happened. We shall both die."

    "What do you propose?"

"I propose you find a way to look past the sins of my father."

    Chapter 32

    Hedrik Clegane III.

    Chapter Details

Hedrik Clegane III. is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter he returns with a large group of Lannister, Swift, and Starke men to Lucerne where he specifically join Jasper Hale and William when they speak with Jasper`s father father for what will be the last of their positive meetings. William is able to convince his father to send many of the forces of Lucerne, but he says that the consequences of this act are his alone. As the army of Lucerne mobilizes for the Journey it is William that commands them to break up and do many things of which are of great importance, and of these tasks he wants completed he sends Hedrik Clegane southward to deal with the devolving situation in the Grand Province of Rosten. Hedrik Clegane moves his forces alongside the forces of House Swift led by Timone Swift, and his son William Swift, and leading a force of several hundred Swift men they are joined by the Dragonoph Priestess Taylor Swift as they make their way southward towards the town of Kautila where the forces of House Elric have been fighting a running battle against a bandit force which has grown out of control in the grand province. Arriving at Kautila they meet with the leadership of House James in the form of Ulrich James, and Taylor James of whom has gathered several hundred troops to join with their army as they prepare to retake control of Castle Elric. Discussing the situation with Ulrich James they learn that the situation is far larger then originally known as this is not one force they are fighting but instead they are fighting against two rebellious houses in the form of House Verilim, and House Herbus who have taken control of large swathes of the Grand Province while alongside this there has also been the rise of three large bandit forces who have also taken control of large swathes of the grand province and to the shock of Hedrik he learns that these forces are all working together in coordinated moves against House Elric's control of the grand province. Gathering together his forces Hedrik leads them against the Sisterhood of Venom first of whom have captured the town of Jogelinn and are using it as the center of their small little fiefdom. Entering the lands of the Sisterhood of Venom they meet no resistance as their army marches up the road but traveling through the village of Ojelurun they find a christian church burned to the ground and meet the first member of the Sisterhood of Venom when they find a heavily armored female priest standing in the center of the village. Meeting with the girl they discover she is Oriphiel Venom the sister of Aphasiel Venom the leader of the Sisterhood of Venom and she had come to the village to meet the army of Hedrik and bring them to Jogelinn where Aphasiel wants to meet with them in peace. Following Oriphiel its Hedrik that discusses the situation with her learning that the Sisterhood of Venom had originally been known as the Army of Aerene but had broken apart after a disagreement between the two leaders of the army in the form of Aphasiel and Mikael Therkildsen over the direction of the army. Arriving at Jogelinn their forces are met at the edge of the town by the army of Venom who is nearly two thousand strong and to avoid a fight Hedrik meets under a white flag with Aphasiel alongside Kaven Elric, and Ulrich James. Meeting with Aphasiel it becomes clear that she simply wants to protect the people of the area of Jogelinn against the increasingly lawless nature of the Grand Province of Rosten and Kaven Elric agrees that if she would swear herself and her forces to his service then he would name her the Landsgard of Jogelinn, and while she accepts she heavily implies that she will be acting as little more then a figurehead as she sees the land as a theocracy. With the forces of the Sisterhood of Venom added to their ranks they make there way towards the Pure of Aerene of whom are the group that broke away from the original Army of Aerene and have now been responsible for committing religious genocide against eastern Rosten. Arriving at the edge of the Pure of Aerene controlled lands they find the roads edge lined with crucified bodies and then marching along the road through these bodies they are met by the sight of a naked man with his eyes cut out and speaking with the man they learn he is Allectius Marinus the Landsgard of the area and he was left there to tell them to turn around and leave the forces of Mikael Therkildsen to their work. The army is forced to stop its march towards Castle Marinus after they discover that the bridge allowing them crossing to the city has been destroyed leaving the large army no real ability to cross in heavy numbers. Hedrik decides to split the army taking the Sisterhood of Venom forces and several hundred of his own men while the majority of the army is taken command by Kaven Elric and will make there way towards the Black Moon Brotherhood's lands. Swimming across the river Hedrik reaches the other side and taking command of the force they make there way towards Castle Marinus but passing through the country side they find burned out farms and dead bodies litter the land as the forces of the Pure of Aerene have devolved. Arriving at Castle Marinus they find the forces of the Pure of Aerene have marshaled outside the castle and despite attempts by Hedrik to meet under a white Flag the forces of the Pure of Aerene fire on the soldier Hedrik sends with the White Flag and this forces Hedrik to move into battle formations. The battle erupts into chaos, and as the lines charge at each other Hedrik is struck by an arrow to the chest, and then as he gets up is struck again in the arm, and in shock he passes out. Waking up the battle is still raging, and he sees Aphasiel and Mikael fighting and seeing Mikael is winning the fight Hedrik pushes through the pain and joins their fight where despite his injuries he is able to defeat Mikael and before passing out again he executes an unapologetic Mikael.

Following the victory in this battle William spends the entire following day assisting in the burial of the losses of the battle, including himself passing off new lordships in many cases including for Varian Anthor of whom becomes quite loyal to him in return for this. Following this they move westward back towards Lucerne as the forces of High Forest, and most of the Gondor army move to prepare to assault Tree Hill. Moving westward they stop at Lamedon to gather some supplies and while there Edward is met by Gemma Cullen who refuses to leave and return home instead demanding to join him and showing that she has gained some control over her Magi abilities. From allies in Lamedon they learn that the situation in Rosten remains tenuous despite the fact that Hedrik Clegane III. was able to supress much of the rebels, but one remaining force led by a powerful magi has blocked their entrance into southern Rosten. With this in mind Edward departs the main group and gathers to him his people including Hilary Swift, and Gemma Cullen and then the three travel by portal to Rosten where they will assist in dealing with the magi alongside a gathering number of magi who are being sent there to assist with taking down the magi there. Arriving at Castle Elric he meets with a fellow Magi in the form of Josephine Aberbach of whom leads several Magi herself and together they join with Konstantin Gaimen who led a force of some eight hundred as they made there way towards Herbus where the last sighting of the Dark Magi was. In order to get to Herbus they are forced to cross the River Schwegler at Castle Schwegler where a large bridge is the only real means of crossing without taking a large detour eastward. Arriving at Castle Schwegler they are met on the bridge by Lord Fredrik Schwegler and his son Wilhelm Schwegler and with both sides aware of what entering the castle means they make arrangements with Fredrik requesting the marriage of his son Wilhelm to Ottilia Hofbauer one of the Magi with Josephine. Gaining the crossing as well as being joined by three hundred Schwegler troops led by Wilhelm they move southward towards Herbus, and the mood is good as there is no more blocking them from reaching Herbus. The chapter ends with Edward Cullen arriving at the edge of Bakersvale where he commands his forces block the city in and start the siege of the city. While doing this his scouts report that the ships of Bakersvale are being prepared to leave the docks and the command comes to realize that the ships are going to be used to attempt to ambush the Lucernians ship as they come down the river. William and Leven meet again, and she becomes increasingly jelous for a time as William on the route to Lole meets once again with Bella Swan, and she sees the two kissing, and wishes it was her being kissed. After being relieved by Emmett, and Jasper Leven wanders the camp and tries to find her sister Obella but discovers she is with Robb Starke of whom accompanied the army but is still recovering from the wounds he suffered during the Battle of Minas Ithil, and when she finally finds her sister Dorea and she tells Dorea a story about a boy and a girl of which she doesn`t reveal to her sister is about Leven and William. Leven would be awoken in the morning by William of whom helps her get into her armor and has a barely controlled level of happiness as he talks about the victory they will most certainly have against the Orcs. Leaving the tent at his side she is able to watch as he delivers a speech to the presented commanders alongside Aragorn Elessar of whom is increasingly responsive to the prince and the bond the two have is only increasing

I could see them through the tent, and it made me sick. I could remember the days when it was me that made him feel that way, and I hated her for it. Sometimes I thought to myself in moments like this how different my life would be if I had gotten pregnant during one of the hundreds of times we were together, but for whatever reason the gods didn't want that for me. I would be in that tent right now holding him close, and knowing with every fibre of my being that I was loved. I was nobleborn, and on the same level as Bella, and yet she had so easily eclipsed me in so little time that it just didn't seem fair.

I felt a hand touch my shoulder, and immediatly grabbed for my sword before laughter slowed me and Emmett's head appeared from beneath the helmet as he pulled up the helmet. "I didn't mean to startle you Levia." A fool wouldn't have believed him as he continued to laugh and I struck him in the chest right beneath his breast plate, causing him to stop laughing. As he stopped laughing the sounds of Bella from within the tent grew momentarily louder, and I couldn't stop myself from looking at the tent for a second before anwsering.

"You didn't startle me." I felt his hand go back to my shoulder as I stared at the tent, and as I looked back to him I saw the understanding in his eyes, but also I could feel pity and that was something I didn't want. "It's fine Emmett." His eyes didn't believe me for a second, but I didn't have time to deal with this right now. "I'm going to catch some sleep make sure he doesn't stay up too late we have to be ready for the morning." I said it more harshly then Emmett deserved, and as I walked away from him leaving him with nothing more then a nod of my head I felt terrible.

Emmett just wasn't a person you should ever be rude too. Born of commoner blood it was his kindness that had pulled him into our group, and it was that same kindness that had led him to becoming the gentlemen he was now. I would have to make a point to bring him something as an apology after the battle, but I couldn't think on that now I just needed to get away from that tent that I wanted to be in more then anything.

I found myself searching hopelessly for Obella when I overhear a Starke man talking about how Robb Starke is with her. Going to the Starke part of the camp I see her sitting with him outside their tent rubbing the hair of that giant wolf of his, and as I watch them I feel happy for my sister. She deserves that kind of happiness, and I know that Robb Starke will treat her well. I turn around and walk to my own tent, and as I move through the seemingly endless ranks of tents, and men that we have gathered I feel a sence of dread wash over me.

I have never been in a battle and yet here I am walking through camp thinking on Will, and hoping for a good life for my sister, and yet I ignore the fact that tommarow we wade into the unknown with nothing more then a hope. I'm glad that me and Jasper will be by Will's side tommarow, as I don't know how I could handle the fear of not knowing what was happening with him throughout the entirety of the battle.

I reach my tent and open the flap revealing my sleeping sister Dorea within, and I smile as she jumps up holding a small dagger. "There is no threat from this direction dear sister." She put her dagger away with a smile before sitting up in the bed.

"You can never be too safe. Uncle told me once that when your surrounded by enough men you need always keep a dagger near you lest you find youself pierced by things other then steel." She laughed as she said it, but I saw how hard she had clenched that dagger, and I knew her well enough to know that she was afraid. I didn't blame her for fear, for I was afraid too.

"Oh my god Dorea when did Oberyn tell you that?" I didn't need to even think on which uncle would tell her such a discusting thing.

"It matters not for Oberyn always speaks the truth of such things." She smiled at me once more before laying back down, and pulled the blankets up to her shoulders. I moved to take off my armor and piece by piece put it on the stand. Each piece of armor had been intricately crafted, and designed for the every wim I had when I was thinking of my armor, and yet looking at the armor now I wondered whether I had ever really thought I would be in a situation where I would need it. "Levia?" Looking to the sound of Dorea she looked so small under the blanket, and I went to her now clothed for sleep and sat at the edge of her bed.

"Whats wrong Dorea?" She shrugged at me, and the way she did it reminded me of how truly young she was. Less then sixteen name days and here she was standing on the edge of the world sleeping one more time before we entered a battle with strange monsters. "There is nothing wrong with being afraid. I would be scared for your mental health if you weren't afraid."

"I'm not scared to fight tommarow." I tilted my head at her, and she pushed me playfully. "I'm not I swear...its just."

    "Just what sister?"

"I just wonder about something Melessa Vaith said when I was leaving."

"What did she say to you?"

"She didn't say it too me, but I know it was actually about me." I nodded at her to continue. "She was talking about Elize Scorpian. She was saying how no man would ever want to marry Elize because she was constantly armored, and that men hated that." The moment she said it I felt terrible for her. Here she was on the eve of battle not afraid of dying, of which I'm sure she was, but she was more worried about her marriage possibilities if she did fight.

"Let me tell you a story Dorea." She grabbed my hand and I rubbed her hand with my thumb as I begin. I knew the story wouldn't hold up to close examination, but as I watched her eyes close and open I knew her sleepy mind wouldn't put it together. "Once there was a prince of a great kingdom, and this prince was beloved by all that he met. He had ladies fawning over him at every turn, and yet one day the tough lady of another land came to court, and he looked at her with a smile that melted her heart. This lady thought as Melessa did. She believed that her love for swords, armor, and horses would turn him away. But the prince smiled at her, and each day he saw her he smiled again. One day the lady would be walking with her horse by the stables when the prince appeared in all his beauty and splender, and once again he smiled at her. The lady was lost in his eyes, and the smile he gave her melted her heart away. The prince told her she was a beautiful girl, and took her hand walking alongside her and the horse." I looked down as I felt her move her head onto my lap, and I watched her fall chest move up and down, and felt such peace watching my sister sleep. I don't know why but I felt the need to keep telling my side of the story. I didn't want to wake her so I begin whispering it to her, and perhaps it was selfish but I wanted to hear it for myself. "From that day forward the two shared a secret smile between them, and whenever he smiled at her she knew in her heart that he loved her. It didn't matter that they didn't marry, and it didn't matter that he was promiced to others because she knew she was loved."

    Chapter 41

    Brooke Scott

    Chapter Details

Brooke Scott is the POV Character of Chapter 34 and during this chapter she watches from the keep as William Lovie III. enters the now liberated Tree Hill and deals with the issues that he finds there. Brooke finally gains her chance at seducing William when on one of the final days of him being in Tree Hill before traveling northward to Lucerne she attends the wedding of Alys Vaith and Luca Rosby alongside WIlliam, and following this she takes him to the ruins of House James's estate where the two sleep together among the ruins. When the fires had stopped burning and William had returned to Lucerne to deal with his father, Brooke was left with the fact that now she was safe but at the same time she had lost so much. Her friends were dead, her family was in tatters, and the one person other then Haley and Peyton that had loved in her in the form of her grand-father was dead. She asked her mother if they had found any sign of her grandfather but she said that by this time there was nothing to find. When she asked if there would be a funeral Karen said that Dan didn't think it was appropriate and was making efforts to make sure that Earl Scott's name was forgotten from the memory of Tree Hill so that he alone would be celebrated. At this news she left her mothers side near tears and made her way to her grandfather's room where she discovered servants tearing into the room. For a moment she just watched them as they tore her grandfather's room to pieces, and she just really didn't understand the world in that moment. When she went to ask them what was going on, her father came up behind her and told her that Earl's room was being turned into a resting room for Karen. When Brooke told him that she didn't want him to get rid of her father's things, he looked at her for a moment before grabbing her roughly by the arm and pulling her into a side room nearby. Inside the room he proceeded to verbally attack her before pushing her roughly into the wall. At the sound of Brooke being pushed into the wall her brother Nathan and several servants approached the room and saw her on the floor with Dan clearly the reason for her being on the ground. Brooke at this point with tears in her face looked to her brother Nathan for some kind of help, but instead Nathan just turned around and walked back the way he came, and after this the servants quickly followed suit. At this point Dan would verbally assault the nearly broken Brooke and the two would finally have what was in a lot of ways a long awaited confrontation. Dan would reject anything that Brooke was requesting in regards to Earl as Dan was extremely hateful towards Earl Scott of whom despite being his father he had always believed had favored Kieth and for this reason had been complicit in the ambush that had killed his own father. The chapter ends with Brooke Scott arriving at the gates of Castle Typhon where Marcel has made his garrison centered out of and asking to speak with Marcel she reveals her pregnancy to Marcel and trusting in the words of William that Marcel is a trustworthy man she tells him that William is the father.

I pushed past a Violet haired girl that didn't seem impressed that I had done that, and walked into the tent. Entering the tent I saw the large boy, and Jasper standing in the corner looking onto a table, while a lanky robed young man stood behind them trying to look as well. It wasn't until I heard his laughter that I realized he was in the corner with a beautiful blond girl who I knew from the initial meeting was a Martell. Was she another of his girls on the side? He had seemed so sincere when we had spoken, I just couldn't believe that he was here laughing with his next conquest while I was broken utterly and completely.

I let out a sob and he looked over at me followed by everyone else in the room. I wanted to yell at him. I wanted to hit him and make him feel the pain that I felt being betrayed in this moment, but I couldn't. No words, or movement came from my body or mind, and I watched crying helplessly as he nearly ran to me and pulled me through the tent and back into the open. I could hear the sounds of shouting but all I could concentrate on was the feeling of his hand on my shoulder, and the way he nearly carried me wherever he was taking me. "Everything with be alright Brooke."

"You lied to me William how could...how could any of this be alright?" He made a left down the paths of tents and pulled me past more guards and stunned faces into a larger tent then I had ever seen before.

"I'm sorry that I lied to you Brooke, but I knew if I told you then...If I told you the truth you would have passed me by." There was a vulnerability in his eyes that confused me. This was a stark contrast to the confident and centered prince that I had seen up to this point.

"I would have passed you by because your taken. Your taken and now I'm ruined." I fell forward and he caught me and brought me to rest on his shoulder. As I cried I could hear the voice of someone outside the tent making everyone understand that everything was fine and no one was entering the tent. I had never thought much about my first time. It was always something I didn't have to worry about as a noble girl. My father would pair me with someone, and that person would have me as he pleased on our wedding night. It was all so simple until I saw him.

"I'm sorry that I betrayed you, but you have to know that I care for you deeply." He looked at me and I believed him. Either he was the greatest liar that ever lived or he was telling the truth. "I thought what I had with Bella was fated. I met her and I guess I didn't know what love felt like because I thought that was it. I thought that was love until you and I were together."

"What am I to do now William. I can't picture myself with anyone else now. How could I? You tell me what I'm supposed to do?" He looked conflicted. A part of me wanted him to tell me to think of him no more. It would have made things so much easier if he had just cut the cord right there. It was only a part of me that wanted that though. The main part and the part that was ruling over my decisions wanted him to beg me to wait. Tell me that we would meet in secret, and eventually he could divorce the Swan and marry me.

    "I don't know Brooke."

"Your the prince of the valley." I reached up and caressed his face with my hand. I knew I was using it to try and get him to choose me, but at this point I didn't care. Who was this other girl to me. She was no one, and we together were meant to be. I had to do anything, and say anything to make him see that she was nothing, and we were everything. "You saved all of us from certain damnation and death. You can decide whatever you want out of this."

"The Swan's are not a house I can afford to alienate right now Brooke." The Swan's were important I knew that. I didn't have to be reminded of the fact that my houses was in utter ruins, and whatever power we had left was scattered to the winds.

    "What about me William?"

"I don't want to hurt you Brooke...I love you." It barely made sense to say it, but I looked at his eyes and I didn't see an ounce of deceit. He meant what he said, and when I looked into my heat its the same irrational, and all to quick feeling that I had. I loved him. I loved this boy that I had met, and bedded all within the same two days.

"I love you too William, but what does that matter if your not going to leave that girl."

"Love is all that matters Brooke." He pulled me close to him, and I knew that he had held strong. I was defeated. He had my heart, and he had my virtue and I was left now to look over the ruins of my life. "Just give me some time Brooke.

And there it was. Pushing it aside. It was the logical answer for him, but somewhere in me I just wanted him to push aside all the politics, and duty and just be with me. I knew that would destroy him, but I wanted him. I wanted him so deeply that what difference did those things make as long as we were together.

The truth was so that time wouldn't change it. The only thing that would change this was if that girl was gone. I had to use what I knew and make myself the more useful of the two, because if I did the fact that he loved me more would make it in little question who he would choose.

He wanted time and time was what I would give him. "I know that's what you need William." I pulled him into a kiss. It wasn't meant to be a seduction, but I guess that's what we were now. We were fire, and it was never going to be just a kiss between the two of us.

Don't end it all here. Don't do this. For me father. For everything I supposedly mean to you. Don't do this.

My brother held for a moment holding the door, and as he stood their transfixed on the door handle I put my hand to his arm. Feeling my hand on his he looked back and smiled back at me before pulling the door open to reveal the contents of the room I had never been allowed to enter in my entire life. My father sat behind a massive desk, while the pathetic image of my brother Sean leaning in the corner of the room looking like a small child. Sean looked like the same pathetic boy he had been on the last day I had seen him, and it pained me to remember now all he had done. On a scale of evil he was up there with the worst monsters, and yet somehow when you looked at him now he looked so small.

William entered the room flanked to his left by Jasper, and Hedrik, while on his right Edward, and Emmett moved forward. I stood transfixed staring into the room until finally Franklin gently grabbed my arm and led me into the room to stand behind William. If he noticed that I had entered he didn`t make any signs of caring he just stared at William. Sean on the other hand saw me and a twisted smirk moved across his face to the point that I moved closer to William looking for the protection that he offered me.

``My victorious son returns with his brave Lords. I rejoice at your great victory at Tree Hill son.`` My father was anything if not a brilliant menipulater of men, but even that seemed foolish. My brother`s victory left him in a position of little hope, and yet when you looked at his face he did look genuinly proud to see his son.

``The time for your lies is long past its end. I have learned the truth about what you have done father, and the time has come to pay for crimes.``

``So you come as a gaurdian of the realm then.`` He rose from the desk and moved in front of it to sit gently on the front. Seeing him closer he wore the armor of his father James, and even his madness you could see the royal look he carried.

``I`ve come for justice for the thousands of people you have either killed or terrorized. I come to avenge the wrongs you have done to this Kingdom. I come make you pay for everything you`ve ever done.``

``And yet your point is sullied by bringing that bastard girl.``

``You will never speak of her again do you hear me.`` William stepped forward and I grabbed at his cloak to keep him close while Jasper and the others also stepped forward to protect their prince. I actually couldn`t believe it still hurt me to hear the distain in his voice towards me, but it still hurt my heart to be so unloved by my father. A tear fell down my cheek and I grabbed again at his cloak and he turned as if realizing I was crying. Gently wiping his hand on my face he smiled at me conveying the love he held for me, and how much he was capable of I felt safer.

``That will be your undoing my son.`` The words from my father turned William back towards him, and as pathetic as it was I moved closer behind him nearly hugging his back.

``What do you blather on now.``

``Your love for that girl is going to be the one thing your enemies will use to their advantage. Don`t you understand that I sent her away because she was weakening you.`` He spoke as if it was the most honorable act he could have ever done, and yet the sheer scope of what he had was beyond grasping.

``Use whatever excuses you want but this ends here. Your time here is at an end murderer.`` The moment William said murderer it was as if Bill had been struck with the most painful strike in the history of mankind. Falling back onto his desk he looked back with a horrified look on his face.

"I’ve seen horrors. Horrors that you’ve seen. But you have no right to call me a murderer. You have no right to call me a murderer. You have a right to kill me. You have a right to do that, but you have no right to judge me…It’s impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what horror means. Horror. Horror has a face, and you must make a friend of horror. Horror and moral terror are your friends. If they are not, then they are enemies to be feared. They are truly enemies…" It was the sad ramblings of a man with nothing left, but as the tears flowed from my father`s face I felt a tinge of empathy for the sadness that must have driven this once great man to fall so far as to hate his children, and turn the Kingdom into a hellish place.

``The time for your talking is over. Jasper, Hedrik please take my father into custody and Sean it is...`` Before he could finish my father broke out into hysterical crying and fell to his knees before William. Moving that close to William Jasper grabbed ahold of him almost immediatly and shielded William.

"There they were in a pile, a pile of arms, and I remember, I…I…I cried, I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn’t know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized like I was shot, like I was shot with a diamond, a diamond arrow right through my forehead. And I thought, ‘My God, the genius of that. The genius. The will to do that. Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure. And then I realized they were stronger than me because they could stand it. These were not monsters. These were orcs — trained warriors. These orcs who fought with their hearts who have families, who have children, who are filled with lust for battle – that they had the strength, the strength to do that. If I had ten divisions of those Orcs, then our troubles here would be over very quickly. You have to have men who are moral and at the same time who are able to utilize their primordial instincts to kill – without feeling, without passion, without judgment – without judgment. Because it’s judgment that defeats us." After that madness filled rant Bill recoiled from Jaspers grasp and ran behind the desk.

``There`s nowhere to go...its over father.``You could tell this was breaking William as he watched the man that had been his father for his entire life fall apart. This wasn`t like it was for me or Sean as father had never loved or cared for us in any real way, this was true pain. For his entire life his father had loved and cared for him, and now was the final moment of his time with him, and I felt his pain wash over me.

``The day may come son, when this is at an end. I see my end in the stars son, but know that while it is my blood that lays the final blow, it will not be you. You will be far far away when I finally get the judgement that you wish of me.``He stopped for a moment and looked briefly at Sean, and then William before stopping at me. ``I`m sorry that my plan failed in the end. I`m sorry that everytime I looked at you I couldn`t find any feeling but resentment. He always loved you in a way that he never did me, and I...I just...I just hated you for it.
