House Targaryan is an extremely large Ostrogoth House that controls the Empire of Dragonstone capital of Dragonstone. For many years House Targaryan was a Lucernian House that for many generations held control over the Lordship of Tree Hill inside the Kingdom of Lucerne. Since their departure from Lucerne they rule a small Kingdom in Croatia called the Empire of Dragonstone, and have become even more powerful after they were able to summon a dragon to them, and from this dragon Flenix they have born seventeen Dragons of which have become a fightening force for the new Empire. House Targaryan upon their arrival in Dragonstone has a splitoff house formed by one of the remaining daughters of Aryes Targaryan II. in the form of House Blackfyre, and they retain a very tight, and loyal relationship with House Blackfyre.

House Targaryan would form their family sigil around the House Ysgramor sigil as a sign of their devotion to the Dragonoph religion and with the decline in the House Ysgramor power it stands as House Targaryan who has the more recognizable sigil.

House Targaryan under the leadership of Aryes Targaryan would become very close with William Lovie I. and Aryes became a member of the Companions of William Lovie I. leading to House Targaryan becoming one of the Dragonborn Houses.

House Targaryan was born as a House following their loyalty to William Lovie III. and it isn't crazy to say that before this the only succesful Ostrogoth House was House Lannister, of whom cared little about their own people. For House Targaryan the uplifting of the Ostrogoths became a major part of their goals and this would make them beloved amongst the Ostrogoths, and was one of the main reasons that their subjects of whom were Ostrogoths did not resist them during the madness of Aryes Targaryan and it took the involvement of non-Ostrogoths to actually remove them. Many Ostrogoths in Lucerne still long for the return of a house like House Targaryan as House Lannister continued to care only about itself. In the Empire of Dragonstone the leadership of House Targaryan have once again turned their goals towards the upliftment of their Ostrogoth brothers who have become the slave of choice in Westros, and Croatia.

House Targaryan, and the Empire of Dragonstone are the centerpiece of the Rise of the Dragon short story, and the house is majorly flushed out during this short story which brought them more into the limelight. The Rise of Dragon is the shortest of the short stories, and is only five chapters long, and during these five chapters the main characters are Deneyres Targaryan, Heath Targaryan, Ulian Wind, and Rhaegar Targaryan.

House Targaryan was originally made up of Ostrogoths who made their way into the Valley of Lucerne during the waning days of the Great Migration. The house was especially strong in wealth during their arrival in Lucerne, though it is not known the reason for their vast wealth the house was one of the most powerful houses in Forks very soon after their arrival in the town. Even through their wealth the house truly became known during the events of the Driving Tide where they were very close to House Lovie, who would eventually become the King of the Kingdom of Lucerne. House Targaryan was extremely powerful during the time of the Driving Tide in the valley of Lucerne, and they were the original founders of Tree Hill following their surrender to William Lovie. For generations the members of House Targaryan ruled over Tree Hill with an iron fist and had many vassal houses including the present Lord of Tree Hill in House Scott. The rule of House Targaryan came to an end in Tree HIll when Aryes Targaryan II. lost his mind and turned public opinion against the house. Following the death of many in the House, the remainder fled east past Gondor , and settled in what is now south eastern Westros. In Westros the members of House Targaryan founded a small Kingdom called Dragonstone where they rule a steap mountaintop city. During their discovery of this fortress they were first forced to battle against the Dark Elves that had been using the fortress as their home, and thus the place was filled with slaves most of which were dead, or near death. The members of House Targaryan have come to become a greater power following their capture of a Green Dragon of whome they have the skill to ride, and the ability to breed. This alongside the massive growth in Dragonstone due to the influx of Ostrogoths has meant that they are swiftly becoming a major player in eastern Westros, and are also being looked at by Gondor for potential allies against Orthanac.

The Mountain War
We can let the Dwarves fight on there own. There is no question that option will save the most of our children and family. For now. But what happens when we abandon the Dwarves and the Goblins take the Mountains...We lose everything.
House Tyrell

House Tyrell was leading over the Realm of Forks at the time, and there had been a growing alliance among several other houses including House Swan, House Lovie and House Targaryan which would come to the front of issues during the negotiations in Forks.

Houses that had the slightest of differences turned on eachother as they all vied to be closest to House Tyrell.  That all ended the moment William returned on the back of that Dragon. Seeing that changed everything and whether or not the Tyrells wanted to accept it their time was done.
Aryes Targaryan

The Driving Tide burst onto the scene when William Lovie returned to Forks on the back of a dragon, and and to say it caused a stir would be a vast underestamet. He was greeted quickly by the members of his Companions along with the rest of their houses but overall the attitude was very anxious as the people didn't know what William planned to do with this unimaginable power. Following this a group of Dwarves entered Forks begging for assistance against the goblins. As the Dwarves left the council of Forks met, and their was fierce debate about what should be done with William Lovie leading the charge alongside House Tyrell, House Targaryan, and House Swan in assisting the Dwarves in exchange for the Dwarves assisting them. There support was countered by the opposition of House Cash, House Arryn, and House Clegane who believed it wasn't their problem so it should be ignored. With the Forks council at a complete stalemate, the auxiliary House Hale who was one of the richest houses in Forks became interested in gaining more influence and with William Lovie now having a dragon they decided that his wagon was the one they wanted to hitch themselves to. To show their support of William Lovie and his House Lovie they went to William and offered to supply him with all the armor, and weapons that his house as well as House Swan, and Targaryan. With this advantage to them it became clear that the Lovie alliance was going to choose the way Forks would go in the Driving Tide.

Never had someone so small changed so much. It was the slightest of choices that decided an entire land.
Unknown Scribe

With House Lovie, House Targaryan, and House Swan now militarily very strong it would be William that would come to the home of Mace Tyrell of whom was still for all intensive purposes still William's king, and would basically apologize to him for having to make him so much smaller then he had been. The two would eventually come to an understanding and in this understanding Mace Tyrell would join him on the battlefield where before he had planned to sit aside while House Lovie's alliance he now decided to move the entire strength of House Tyrell with him. In this way House Hale The decision of House Hale to assist the effort of William Lovie, and House Lovie meant that House Tyrell had no choice but to ignore the wishes of the House Arryn alliance and force their involvement in the Driving Tide. With no one left to resist the forces of Forks and the nearby regions begin massing north of the city for the campaign that would from this point on be called the Driving Tide.

The First Battle of the Gate

House Lovie

House Lovie

To the very last minute it was the Arryn's trying to stop us. I don't know how bitter their hatred ran that they could completely ignore the obvious situation.
William Lovie I.

The First Battle of the Gate was the battle fought as the Goblins attempted to defeat the Humans before they could gain enough strength to effectively assist the Dwarves. As the forces of Forks moved forward William Lovie on Stragnarax rode far ahead and scouted out the mountains. When William arrived at the mountains they could see the massive number of Goblins that were hiding amongst the stones of the mountain, and thus it was clear they were going to attempt to ambush the Forks army. He was told by Stranganarx that the Goblins of the mountains had been building their strength for many years and what he saw there was nothing more then a small fraction of their total force. Realizing that even a victory on that field wouldn't completely mean victory in the war he knew he would need to eventually meet with the forces of the Dwarves so that their combined armies could completely defeat the Goblins. Stragnarax would take him back to Forks and during the trip he asked Stragnarax whether any dragons could come to their aid, and while Stragnarax wanted to help the Lucernians and his friend in William Lovie he still did not trust the humans enough to intervene on that scale. Upon his return to Forks he called all the Nobles that were there to a meeting where he would make everyone understand how dire the situation was, and the consequences if they did not deal with the Goblins now. When he returned to the army William took the lead in planning and devised a strategy where they would set up camp in front of the mountain making it appear that they were going to sleep but when the Goblins charged forward they would be ready for them and would massacre them in the open.

I had second thoughts on my decision the moment I saw him standing at the table and everyone just listened to him. I wasn't ready for that kind of loss just yet.
Mace Tyrell I.

House Tyrell for the first time saw their power truly slipping away and attempted to argue against the plan but at this point even House Tyrell's allies were not supporting them and this led to William's plan being followed. In a huge coup the members of House Lovie gained the upper hand in the city of Forks in a way that had never occured before. Mace Tyrell would try and storm out of the meeting but he was stopped by his bannermen of whom warned him that the momentum had shifted and that he might be killed if they didn't side with the alliance of House Lovie. So everyone including House Arryn would join the massive army that was preparing to march to the valley beneath the mountains to ambush the goblin army.

The Prelude
Goblins

The Night Goblins had sent scouts to follow all of the dwarf messengers, and were aware that the Forks army was on its way to assist. The moment they became aware, the Night Goblin leader sent his luitenant Greshak to ambush them at the gate. This ambush would have been completely disasterous for the entire war had it not been for the stupidity of the goblin liutenant Greshak. The Goblin commander decided that since the Lucernians camped at the outside of the gateway in then he would be able to attack them while they slept. This would mean even fewer casualties and a complete destruction of Lucernes army. The reason that he had been told to ambush the humans was that the Lucernians were waiting for the Dwarves to arrive, and had been warned that they should not sit idle while sitting out front the gate. For this reason the Lucernians had barricaded their camp completely, and were 100% ready for any attack.

To further complicate matters for the goblins the Humans now had the service of Stragnarax, and he was flying in the sky. While flying he noticed the goblins hiding in the hills of the entrance. With this knowledge he telepathically contacted William Lovie, and further warned him. With this warning the forces of Lucerne prepared for nightfall and the eventual attack that was coming.

The First Battle of the Gate
First Battle of the Gate

When darkness descended on the hills the Goblin army charged out of their hiding spots, and encircled the Human camp. The human defenders had been prepared for this so when the first goblin got near, the human archers begin unloading arrows on them. In their current position the goblins were completely exposed, and took huge casualties before they even reached the human camp. When they did reach the camp they found the entrances to the camp heavily barricaded, and the few entrances were extremely well gaurded. The Goblins found themselves completely under fire and unable to break through into the camp.

It was at this low point in the battle that a massacre was about to take place. Stragnarax and William Lovie rode to the center of the Goblin army, and engaged the goblin commander. The two fought very briefly before William killed him, and Stragnarax rained fire on the goblins. The center of the goblins was gone, and now they broke completely. When the goblins broke and ran, the humans chased behind, and fewer then 5% of the massive goblin army survived to make it back to the gate.

Goblin Counter Attack

While the loss of the army at the Gate wasn't good for the Goblins they had nearly unlimated forces at this point and thus they wanted to keep up the pressure so they hastily re-launched their attack on Karak Mulger which was still attempting to repair the damage to their defences. The Battle was a tough fight but again the Goblins were pushed back by the determined Dwarves who were at this point beggining to recieve reinforcements from Karak Izor as the situation out front the gate had somewhat stabalized the hole warzone.

Second Battle of Karak Izor
Karak Izor Thaig3
In our centuries long silence we had abandoned many mines as more prosperous ones were found. It was in this abandonement that our enemies flowed through behind our lines.
Dwarven Scribe

After the disasterous First battle of the Gate, and the following defeat they suffered during the Karak Mulger, the Night Goblins became even more aggressive in their attacks. The Goblins moved many of their forces to the far back of the conflict where they launched a series of raids against the unprepared Karak Izor who didn't think they could be hit. In this lack of preperation the Goblins had found a series of mines that were abandoned and through them they were able to sneak there way inside the Hold itself where once inside a series of desperate battles were fought which together are called the First Battle of Karak Izor. The Dwarves were able to keep the goblins out of the main hold itself but as they defeated the advances they found the goblins had hunkered down into the shadows and were now launching constant geurilla raids against Karak Izor. While these attacks were of little actual consequence they forced a large amount of their forces to move into the tunnels attempting to rid them of goblins instead of moving towards Karak Izor.

Fall of Karak Mulger
Night Goblins

As the Night Goblins attacked the Dwarf Hold of Karak Izor their main thrust came out when their huge forces attacked the recovering fortress of Karak Mulger. The Dwarves had still been working on the repairs to the Hold, and because of the swiftness of the attack the Goblins were able to mass themselves at all entrances to the Hold, and had it completely surrounded. As the Dwarves prepared to accept the charge of the endless Goblins they were all shocked as the Goblins burst through tunnels in the deepest core of Karak Mulger. With these breaches the Dwarves were forced to pull forces from their strong points, and this was exactly what the Goblins had wanted them to do. The moment the Dwarves moved from the fortress the Goblins begin overruning the defences at every entrance. The moment of the fall of the Hold was at hand, and everyone involved knew what was happening as the entrances, and the Dwarves were pushed back completely. The Dwarves that had went to react to the burrowing Goblins now discovered their fellow Dwarves retreating into the core of the Hold, and with this the thousands of Dwarves left prepared for their last stand. The Nigh Goblins massed their thousands and then charged the beligured Dwarves before the forces of Karak Izor could once again intervene and possibly save what little remained of the hold. The Dwarves held the gateways into the core for more then two hours before the last Gate Gaurd was pulled apart, and with this the Goblins were inside the walls, and they proceeded to massacre the remaining Dwarves inside the Hold.

The Final Battles

Final Battle of the Gate

With Karak Mulger overrun the goblins believed themselves to have the upper hand. In this high for the Night Goblins their scouts reported that the human army had regrouped and was now on its way to the gate with the obvious intentions of retaking Karak Mulgar. The Night Goblin leader knew he didn't have the hold neccessary to be able to maintain control of Karak Mulgar, and if the humans did enter the mountains and team up with the Dwarves, the Night Goblins could possbily lose the war. With this in mind the Goblin commander pulled his forces from the siege of Karak Izor, and left a large force their to hold the Dwarves in place. He then took the entire Night Goblin army and headed to the gates of Lucerne. When William Lovie, and the Lucernian army arrived at the gate they saw the massive Goblin Army arrayed in front of them. In this moment the two armies just stared eachother down. Each side wanting to be the ones with initative this caused the two armies to charge eachother.

Third Battle of Karak Izor

While the Goblin army was leaving to attack the humans at the gate, the Dwarven King of Karak Izor, and Karak Mulger gathered their entire army and launched a shock attack at the goblin army that had remained to hold them in place. So much hate was on the side of the Dwarves, and so sudden was the attack, the goblin army barely even got out of their beds before the Dwarves had completely wiped them out. With this victory the Dwarves moved themselves behind the army of the Nigh Goblins.

Second Battle at the Gates

The Goblins had been prepared to meet the forces of the Humans, and at the final days before the Battle they knew there would also be Dwarves from the more western Holds but what they did not understand was that in the days before the Second Battle of the Gates Stragnarax would travel into the Mountains and gather his entire White Dovah and command they following him into the Battle which would bring thousands of Draknoids, and hundreds of full Drakes into the Mountains just north of Lucerne awaiting the arrival of the Goblins.

John Lovie3

John Lovie shortly before his capture

Following the massacre that was Bloody Supper the now completely mentally unhinged became the Second King of Lucerne. His coronation was a strange and bloody event which during he killed three slaves which had been brought in only for his coronation. Following this madness he begin making outlandish commands which whether he knew could not be followed or not didn't matter since he found with each passing day the people turned more and more against him. At first he had the support of several houses of which the main ones were House Lannister, House Jestife, and House Ordos. Following his ordering the murder of several prominent members of House Scarlet he lost the support of House Ordos, and following House Ordos pulling out House Lannister begin to shuffle many of its members out of the city of Lucerne.

With his supporters dwindling he was unable to stop a rebellion from growing within the Kingdom which was led by House Swan, House Starke, and House Scarlet. As riots spread into the cities John Lovie ordered several houses that he thought were loyal to him to take control of the centers of the major cities. These commands were supported heavily by the military of House Lovie that was spread very thin in these endevors. House Targaryan had been sent orders to take complete control over Tree Hill and stamp out any riots that sprung up but these commands were ignored by the very old Aryes Targaryan I. Of all the commands he sent out though only House Gretter actually followed through, and they took control of the port of Forks but were unable to enter the city as crowds of citizens of the city blocked their way, and House Swan and its vassal houses manned the walls. These houses grouped together and were able to persuade the vast majority of the population to the idea of placing John's young son James on the thrown in place of John and quickly went about retaking the Kingdom.

Civil War

Death of Gragrorix Scarlet

Death of Gragorix Scarlet

House Targaryan met with the massive army that was forming near Forks and they were heavily involved in the affairs that broke out during the Civil War. Those loyal to John Lovie were approached and given a choice to either die beside John, or to accept the rebellion's valitity, and to this end they begin assasinating the members of House Gretter who were the only John Lovie loyalists still operating outside of Lucerne. The Battle at the port of Forks was a complete massacre as the House Lovie forces that were there to maintain the peace turned against House Gretter causing the annihilation of the entire house. With the Kingdom completely lost to John Lovie he ordered House Lannister to hold the pathway into Lucerne and make sure that noone was able to get in. When he made this order House Jestife strongly objected as they believed (correctly) that House Lannister were not in the struggle for the long run. As the rebels approached the city House Lannister did betray John Lovie and allowed the rebels to enter without a fight. With his rule about to end John Lovie ordered House Jestife to hold the palace while he spent the last hours of his rule in Lucerne torchering and murdering the members of House Lannister that had remained in the palace as collateral. House Targaryan was especially important during the Battle of Lucerne as they had quickly shuffled Katheryn Scarlet the wife of John Lovie out of the mess that was unfolding, and were also able to allow the escape of several hundred loyalists from the Sky Towers before John Lovie could order their murder.

Fall of House Targaryan

Fall of House Targaryan
Once there were three friends that had started the Kingdom of Lucerne. Today we say goodbye to one of our friends, and hello to a new world without one third of our hearts.
House Targaryan2
My father used to tell me that there were three major houses in the Kingdom of Lucerne that were our friends without any question. House Targaryan was one of those three.
Bill Lovie

Aryes Targaryan II. would be the Lord of Tree hill following the death of his father Aryes Targaryan I. and he would oversee the complete embarrassment of his House from Lucerne. His reign started simply enough but it took a dramatic and horrifying turn when there was a hostage situation caused by two vassal houses in House June against House Cash. The two houses had been stuck in a battle over some farm land east of the city, and were unable to solve it diplomatically, and some of the more headstrong members of the two families had gotten into a fight at a tavern where two members of House Cash ended up dying alongside several guards for each house. When Aryes went to the estate of house June in order to solve the problem he was accidentally taken hostage by the House June honor guard and during the early part of the captivity he was tortured using a fire pick against his arms. Eventually a member of House June entered the honor guard station and discovered the beaten body of Aryes targaryan, and having never meant for that to happen House June immediately let him go, but the damage was done.

Destruction of House June

Aryes Targaryan II.

Aryes Targaryan II.

He supposedly locked himself completely in his room not allowing anyone to see him. He was frightened, and one could understand why, but he allowed that fear to overtake him, and destroy everything we had built.
Aryes Targaryan III.

When Aryes targaryan returned to tree hill he withdrew himself into the keep of Tree Hill and basically disappeared from the public eye for almost a year. During this time he was tended to through the dropping of food at the door, and only his sister Shaelenia was allowed to come into his room, and even she is said to have been kept at a great distance by the now disturbed Aryes Targaryan. When he finally came out of his office he was completed unkeped and he had nails that were insanely long. He had dropped an immense weight due to the fact that he had eaten so little over the time he was hidden. But on top of the physical change he was emotionally changed as well as he had become unhinged mentally and now saw visions, and heard voices. The once quiet peacemaker ordered the Tree Hill army to march on the House June estate and kill everyone inside. As this was happening and over the year previous the leadership of House Tyrell had been making movements in order to sap the support of House Targaryan, and knowing that the Targaryans would most likely take revenge for the imprisonement of Aryes the Tyrell's would promice both House June, and House Cash that they would come to their aid in the event that the Targaryans attacked them. The Tree Hill army acting under the command of Aryes Targaryan would marshal and besieged the House June where they would surrender themselves only a few days into the siege, as it was clear that outside assistence was not coming in the form of House Tyrell of whom had promiced them they would help them. As this happened the army of the Tyrells would arrive from Highgarden, and they joined the more southern Stormlands houses as the siege continied of the small hold of House June.

Noone had seen it coming, but afterwards noone could stop the momentum of death and destruction that Aryes had unleased when he killed House June.
Earl Scott

Aryes at this point would arrive at the estate and despite hearing the pleas of House June that they had no meant to imprison the Lord of House Targaryan he wouldn't hear it and killed the two June members that had come under the protection of the Guest Right, and following this commanded his army to massacre everyone inside the castle. When many of the houses refused this Aryes turned to his brother Aegon Targaryan of whom led the Targaryan forces into the now opened castle where they killed everyone inside. When the massacre was complete the city was shocked at the near complete destruction of a large noble house (with only the youngest son, and his sister surviving the massacre due to the intervention of Drunten Targaryan), but in this instance the city felt that since house June had started it perhaps this action was necessary. The next retaliation of Aryes targaryan was far beyond the acceptable scenario of tree hill though, and it was finally the moment the large Tyrell at the edge of the city had waited for.

Destruction of House Cash

Destruction of House Cash
It is said that so great was his hatred that he burned them alive himself. Screaming and laughing while he did it.
Mastir Tyrell

House cash was the other house involved in what Aryes came to believe was a plot to capture and embarrass him, so Aryes once again ordered the tree hill army to do his bidding through the destruction of House Cash. Unfortunately for Aryes the army wasn't willing to destroy House Cash so Aryes was forced to turn to the House Targaryan honor gaurd who moved quickly in the massacre. The honor gaurd moved throughout the house cash home and murdered nearly the entire house in a three hour battle that spilled into the street and ended up leading to the deaths of almost 200 people. With this kind of death count the people of Tree Hill turned swiftly against House Targaryan and their started to be open resisting against their movements. As this rebellion continued the ire of House Lovie was brought in through the involvement of James Lovie who left Lucerne in a convoy to Tree Hill and would arrive in a week.

The Week

House Targaryan executions
By that point we were basically just praying to god that James would arrive in the city before the Tyrell's got their hands on us. Despite the fact that we were still members of the royal family of Tree Hill we started to hear the calls against us in the streets.
Aegon Targaryan

House Targaryan was now in open revolt amongst themselves as well as Aegon Targaryan said they must all stay together but Drunten Targaryan wanted to hand over Aryes Targaryan and try to appease the mobs that were out for blood now. This blood lust was spilling into the streets as the members were being verbally and physically attacked in the streets after the massacre of House Cash of which caused them to have to hide themselves into their estate within the city. The House Targaryan estate was what the current Scott Keep was and thus it was built into the cliffs in the center of the city, and from this it was extremely heavily defended, but by this point the Tyrells had picked their side. The Tyrells would lead the army of Tree Hill in sieging the Targaryan estate, and they were able to kill a large number of the Targaryan honor gaurd during the intial assaults on the keep. In only two days following James Lovie getting the letter and leaving Lucerne the House Targaryan estate became under siege by the citizens of Tree Hill along with House Scott, and House Tyrell. The siege continued for three more days before the gate of the estate was finnally breached, and the city waited with held breath for what the people would do as punishment to House Targaryan. The siegers entered the estate and begin gathering together all of House Targaryn and before House Scott - who didn't want violence done before James Lovie arrived - could stop it the House was marched to the center of Tree Hill where House Tyrell had erected a temporary executioners square. As this was happening several of the more level headed houses joined with House Scott where they massed themselves in a possible belief that they might storm the square and fight the Tyrells over the violence they were doing. Over the course of three hours the members of House Targaryan were brought to stand before the city of Tree Hill, and depending on the wishes of the city they were exectuted. The violence reached its apex as the Tyrells executed Shaelenia Targaryan the young sister of Aryes but before they did a man of House Lonmout would sexually violate her as her head was bound prepared to be killed, and this caused the already insane Aryes to go completely insane. The last to be judged was Aryes Targaryan, and before he could say a word Kraven June the eleven year old surviving member of House June stepped forward and stabbed Aryes Targaryan through the neck killing him. With the trials all done the surviving members of House Targaryan retreated back to their estate where there was full scale looting underway. House Scott moved into the estate and offered House Targaryan protection, and it was this act that basically saved what remained of House Targaryan.

House Scott saved the rest of them because I was five minutes from ordering the killing of every remaining Targaryan in the town. Five minutes longer and House Scott loses the chance of saving them.
Mastir Tyrell

In the end in the four hour trial of House Targaryan thirty two members of the House were dead including its patriarch in Aryes Targaryan II., and the remainder were in the custody of House Scott of whom had taken them alongside the rest of the houses allied to the Scotts and fled outside of the city. By this point the Tyrells had gone completely in on retaking Tree Hill, and trying to gain back what they had lost with the rise of House Lovie, and so they massed their forces and moved towards the Scotts in a movement that if it had more time would have resulted in a battle between the Scott forces, and the Tyrell's. Before the two could fight though the arrival of the vangaurd of the Lovie forces in House Swan would stop any further violence, and as the Swan troops entered the city they would alongside several neutral houses move to stop the rioting in the streets that the Tyrells had incited.

Arrival of James Lovie

Mastir Tyrell
I arrived to a scene of madness and death. People were running around trying desperatly just to stay alive, while fires seemingly burned out of control. While all this happened Mastir Tyrell and his sons would meet me as if they hadn't done a thing. Had they of shown any kind of remorse I would have given them the lordship, but when I realized not only did they not regret it but they were happy it happened I knew they couldn't have it.
James Lovie

When James Lovie arrived in Tree Hill his worse fears were realized as he walked amongst the ruins of the center of the town and the piles of bodies that he discovered. As he saw the body of Aryes Targaryan he was approached by the leadership of Tree Hill of whome was their to explain to him what had happened to House Targaryan. As each house told him that House Tyrell was responsible he finally came to House Tyrell and prepared to meet their delagation. House Tyrell at the time was led by Mastir Tyrell and he would meet the King of Lucerne at the burnt out remains hobbled together alongside his young son Olenna Tyrell and his other family members. When he met with James Lovie he nearly assumed that House Tyrell was going to be given command, as Mastir didn't see anyone elce who was even possible outside of House Scott, and House June but House June was nearly destroyed. So when James Lovie said to him that he would have to think about what the next step was Mastir became agitated and nearly spoke with hostility towards James, but he was silenced by his brother before he would have been executed.

Aemon Targaryan

Aemon Targaryan would lead the exodus of the Targaryans from Tree Hill.

He left me standing there and I still knew in my mind that we had it in the bag. I maen litteraly every house with the power, wealth, and influence to be given lordship was either dead, fled, or was us so for me there was no real option.
Mastir Tyrell

When James left he went with his gaurd to find House Scott who many had said acted with courage when they saved the remainder of House Targaryan who were now under the protection of House Lovie. With House Scott were the remainder of House Targaryan and the only male of any true age was Aemon Targaryan and when he arrived he wanted to know from Aemon what he thought he should do. When he found Aemon he was gathering together the members of his family, and preparing to leave. James wanted him to stay and continue as the Lord of the city but Aemon knew that their time in Tree Hill was done. No matter what they did, or how they acted their image was tarnished and House Tyrell would kill the rest of them if they wanted. James relented after a time, and accepted that one part of the triumverate that had created the Kingdom of Lucerne was gone, and he attemted to get his advise on who they should pass the lordship too. Aemon thought was that they should pass it to House Scott as they were the only ones who kept their head right when the bad stuff started happening. James Lovie would take this into regard, and also under the advise of Jacob Vorn he would command that the Arch Duke of Tree Hill would be House Scott, and that if the Tyrells made any attempt to remove the Scott's then the Tyrells would be branded enemies of the Kingdom of Lucerne, and hunted to the ends of the Earth.

With public opinion completely turned against them following the execution of Aryes II. and much of the entire house they had a decision to make. They could attempt to rebuild their reputation or they could accept that they were probably stuck with the reputation their patriarch had built for them. They decided that their reputation was damaged beyond repair so the time to leave was upon them. The House gathered all of their wealth and followers and begin travelling northward towards Westbridge in the belief that they would make their way to the Empire where all matters were forgiven.

On the road the House became entrenched in a running battle with a gang of bandits who realized the wealth on board the caravan and thus attacked the Targaryans. At one point the Targaryans were forced to completely halt and fortify their wagons into three larger fortified wagons in which the women and children would hide on board. This worked better, and they were then able to more quickly move but they found constant road blocks set up by the bandits on the routes north so they were forced to keep heading east. As they kept moving east they eventually found themselves at the small fishing village of Hjarlmsson. Staying there for a few days they hired the village to ferry them across the waters to the city of Koenisburg where they thought they could then head north to Lorderon and then moe up the Rhine towards the Empire.

When they arrived in Koenisburg they settled themselves outside the walls, and the house attempted to barter much of their valuables, and heirlooms in order to finance further movement by the group. These trades continued for many weeks until eventually they had sold basically everything they were at all willing to sell. Before they left on the boats northward the patriarch at the time Aryes Targaryan III. was stopped by a strangley clothed man who offered to give him information as well as an item of invalable importance if only Aryes would take his household east and give a box to the magister in Pontus. Skeptical was Aryes until the robed man showed him the item he was going to give the targaryans if he did the task was the legendary Dragon Harp which was said to be able to call Red Dragons with its beautiful noise.

The Harp

War of the Harp

Main Article : The war of the Harp

Following the Fall of House Targaryan in Tree Hill they left their homes in Lucerne and begin travelling eastward to the Westros town of Koenisburg, and while there they met a man who told them that if they went to Pontus then they would gain perhaps the most powerful object in the entire region called the "Harp". The Harp was a legendary item of unimagineable power which could if used by someone with enough Dragon's blood be used to litterly call dragons to its sound.

Unfortunatly for House Targaryan they were not the only ones offered this deal as the mysterious man was a servent of Malekor, and was attempting to cause the destruction of Westros through the destruction of Pontus, which would weaken the entire region. Following his meeting with House Targaryan he used other servents to offer the same deal to the leadership of Harrenhall, Iron Islands, Kingdom of Bolten, and the Easterlings. With all these parties now obsessed with the hope of getting the "Harp" from Pontus the armies of these nations headed towards Pontus.

Empire of Dragonstone

When Aryes Targaryan III. saw the mountain of Dragonstone he immediatly knew that this was the spot that House Targaryan would stop. Aryes led the caravan up what they discovered was a mountain trail. As they moved up farther they discovered a series of small temples and shines to gods they had never seen before.

After hours of marching up the trail the caravan was grreted with the site of a massive stone wall blocking their route. As they moved towards it they were greeted by three elves of clear dark elven appearance. As Aryes looked around and saw the ruins of other caravans, skeletons he immediately realized they were in some serious trouble. The elves bid they come inside their camp, and Aryes knew he had to think quick about how they were going t survive this, so he agreed to enter but he also spread word amongst his house that they were to prepare for battle, and when he gave the command they would attack the elves before the elves attacked them.

Aryes Targaryan III

Control

With the defeat of the Dark Eles the members of House Targaryan alongside their loyalists were in complete command of the fortress of Dragonstone. As they eplored the fortress they were shocked to discoer how truly ast the fortress was. The few Dark Eles that they had captured still refused to talk so they had to assume that the ast size of the fortress was due to the fact that they had captured the fortress from someone elce, and then maintained it through the use of the hundreds of slaes that they discoered as they traversed the fortress. It appeared that the Dark Eles had also been using these slaves to build a giant enclave within the largest of the mountains peaks which stretched miles into the sky, and was the tallest thing that Aryes Targaryan III. had eer seen in his life.

"When I looked at the giant entrance to this fortress I was more then shocked at the scope of it. Judging by the slaves bodies that lay strewn about the ground it may have been a scary amount of time that they had been constructing their vision of a home. It got more amazing as we traelled up the giant stair cases and discoered that at different levels they had constructed these giant floors that in some cases stretched to be the size of individual castles."

-Aryes Targaryan III.

With the discovery that they had uncovered a place more Vast then anything they could have ever imagined they begin to clear out the fortress of the thousands of dead bodies that lay throughout it, as well as feeding the hundreds of surviving members of the slaves that had toiled for the Dark Elves over the course of the years they had lived there. As they got to uncover more information from the Dark Elves they discovered that the Dark Elves had been massivly constructing things throughout Dragonstone, and that underground their were also vast caverns which houses the slaves during the days they were not being worked to near death. The few suriving Dark Elves were placed inside of cages where they remain to this day with the survivors being Lord Utherin, Braelex and several other surivors of less importance. This couldn't have gone any better for the members of House Targaryan as they had basically inherited a nearly completely constructed capital city. As the fortress was fixed up they begin to set about the way in which it would look in the future.

Coming of the Dragon

The Coming of the Dragon
I never believed truly that playing that harp would bring about anything more then good music.

Rhaegar Targaryan

The Targaryans had been alongside several other Lucernian houses given gifts by the White Dovah of Lucerne but the Targaryans themselves had been given an additional gift in the form of the Harp of Lucerne. The Harp was a Magi item created by the White Dovah of Lucerne and would allow the player of the harp if they held the blood of the Dragonborn to be able to communicate with a Dovah and thus basically summon a dragon to them. Having taken the harp with them when they fled Tree Hill the Targaryans had upon taking control of Dragonstone almost immediately begin attempting to use the Harp but discovered that it would not work for any of the Targaryans at that time. After years of failure the Targaryans gave up attempting to use the harp, and it was only on the sixteenth birthday that harp was brought back out when it was given to Rhaegar who loved history as a gift. There was some excitement about a new generation attempting to use the Harp but when Rhaegar used it no music played from the Harp just as before, and thus it was believed that still no one of Dragonborn blood had returned to House Targaryan. Rhaegar though for his part became obsessed with the idea of the Dovah returning and thus he would spend his considerable political capital as the heir of Dragonstone to rebuild and expand the Tower of Dragonstone which he turned into a great monument to Glaurung believing that Glaurung would view this tower as penance for whatever sin they had committed to make him no longer listen to them. Despite all of this work nothing seemed to work but despite constant failure it was Rhaegar that became more fanatical in finding a fix to the harp, which did not know had been sabotaged by the Green Dovah of High Forest on the order of Stragnarax. As time went on he was eventually joined in this by two other Dragonborn who like all Dragonborn were drawn to the harp, but these two in the form of Deneyres Targaryan, and Maella Aranyon were especially drawn to the harp and together the three played the harp together every day.

Flenix Moved South

Lornax
You stay up here Flenix and you die. Its very simple.
Lornax

Lornax would travel to the Green Dragonshire alongside a large force of White Dovah in order to meet with the Green Dovah there and discuss the changing situation, but while there he discovered from the Green Dovah Nassyra that the Targaryan Harp was in an Ostrogoth city called Dragonstone. While the rest of the White Dovah met at the Green Dragonshire he would travel to Dragonstone, and using Magi he took on a human image calling himself Visedor Valtigar and entering the city of Dragonstone in search of the Targaryan Harp. While traveling the city he discovered a high concentration of Dragonborn, and was shocked that the Harp had not attracted any Dovah with the power of some of the Dragonborn, but understood when he found the harp and discovered it had been sabotaged. Not knowing how to fix the damage he would return to the Green Dragonshire and attempt to find a way but discovered that it was the Green Dovah who had damaged the harp at the request of Stragnarax and were thus unwilling to help.

Tell father that while he has chosen isolation and the death that brings, I have not yet accepted death as our future.
Lornax
While the remainder of the White Dovah returned to the White Dragonshire it was Lornax that would travel north to the Red Dragonshire where he planned to meet his friend Flenix who was the Ruby Prime of the Red Dragonshire and thus would know how to fix the damage. Arriving at the Red Dragonshire he discovered that his friend Flenix had self exiled himself, and after the meetings with the Red Dovah he left alone to find his friend Flenix. Flenix would spend much of his life following his departure from Ruby Dragonshire hiding from the increasingly powerful, and numerous humans of whom enjoyed killing Dragon of whom in the north were not treated with the reverence they were treated with in the south. Finding Flenix in Austria it was Flenix who revealed how to fix the harp and following the reveal of this information the two spent several months together, and realizing that Flenix was looking for something to fight for Lornax left Flenix for a time traveling south to Dragonstone where he now knew how to fix the harp. Entering Dragonstone again as Visedor Valtigar he would return to the harp, and prepared to fix it but found two young girls playing at the harp with a boy, and talking with the group they were revealed as Deneyres Targaryan, Maella Aranyon, and Rhaegar Targaryan and he could feel the Dragonborn power rolling off them, and thus using the Magi spell that Flenix had taught him he would fix the harp. Following fixing the harp he would touch each of them and using the fact that they were Dragonborn gained a control of them which he would plan to use once his plan came into effect. With the Harp repaired he returned to Flenix and over several months eventually Flenix was convinced by Lornax to end his isolation but unwilling to return to the Red Dragonshire and not allowed to come to the White Dragonshire due to Stragnarax's rules he would be convinced by Lornax to travel south to the Green Dragonshire in High Forest.
Deneyres Targaryan Gif1
While traveling south Lornax would instigate his true plan which was to help Lucerne by bringing Flenix to the Targaryans, and traveling ahead of Flenix he would pay a Pentosi mercenary group to injure Flenix while they were resting, and with Flenix badly injured Lornax would guide him towards the mountain range just north of Dragonstone. While the injured Flenix rested it was Lornax that traveled once more to Dragonstone and again entered the city under his human guise but this time used his control over the three Dragonborn to enter the dreams of Rhaegar, Deneyres, and Maella Aranyon all powerful Dragonborn, and following this he returned to Flenix and waited for the three Dragonborn to follow the dream visions he had left them. All three would wake up and following the visions in their dreams travelled to the top of the Dragonstone Tower and bringing the Harp to the top of the tower the three would play the harp together, and the three playing the harp together would reach the mind of Flenix. So it was that While attempting to regain his strength he would be awakened by the sounds of the Targaryan Harp played by Maella Aranyon, Rhaegar, and Deneyres Targaryan and after finding no sign of Lornax and and not believing he could reach High Forest he used his remaining strength to travel to the location of the Harp. While the badly injured Flenix was flying towards the harp it was Lornax that returned and it was Lornax who told Flenix that they had reached their destination but Lornax was not able to join him as he had his own path and then left Flenix who nearly completely exhausted and badly injured would crash into a small island in the town of Dragonstone.

Flenix would give rise to everything our dreams had ever created. After Flenix arrived it was as if the world was finally open to us. Nothing was impossible anymore.
Rhaegar Targaryan

Flenix was by this point so exhausted that he was unable to to control his descent and landed in the northern part of the city on the small island that existed in the lake. The entire city flew to the spot he had crashed all wanting to see why it had crashed, and when Rhaegar arrived he was shocked at the condition the dragon was in. Flenix had passed out but Rhaegar was able to see that he had scars all over the one side of him, and he could barely lift his head, and with that came the fears that he might die. Rhaegar had been the first to get across on one of the small boats but only minutes after he had dissected the situation he was accompanied by others from the mainland, and together they attempted to help the Dragon.

To see something that beautiful was one thing I never thought I'd get the chance to see. The dragons were always nothing more then a dream that I kept ahold of because it reminded me of the world that was before my father lost his mind.
Aryes Targaryan III.

Over the course of the hours that followed they begin bringing materials onto the island and over the following days as they tended to his wounds they constructed around him a makeshift wooden house where he would be allowed to heal. During this time Rhaegar the prince of Dragonstone was never far from his side, and alongside him his younger sister Deneyres Targaryan also became glued to the Dragon who had yet to raise his head or make any sign that he was alive other then the fact that he was breathing. Over the day nearly every noble would attempt to see the Red Dovah but eventually Deneyres would convince her brother Rhaegar to not let anyone else in, and that they needed to give the dragon time to heal itself thus leaving only Rhaegar, Deneyres, Maella inside the house with him. As time went by it was the simple singing of Deneyres that would wake the mighty red drake, and Deneyres begin to notice the dragon reacting to her voice. At first they just desperately wanted Flenix to drink or eat, and they were able to feed and let him drink thus getting him more strength. It was after nearly a week of this process that Flenix finally opened his eyes and ushered the first words to Deneyres Targaryan.

Flenix and Deneyres would talk for some time, and eventually Flenix was lured in by her promises of protection and a part of something more then just fleeing constant attacks from Dragon Hunters. With this Rhaegar would enter the tent followed by several members of House Targaryan and their allies of which each would promise that they would remain loyal to the dragon, and in this oath never turn away from this loyalty. The final one to enter was the old and sickly Aryes Targaryan III. of whom was carried in by Aegon, and Hanzal Targaryan and would rest himself on the floor in front of the mighty dragon, who by this point was now standing and walking throughout the island home. Aryes it is said wheeped in front of the dragon as he finally for the first time in his life came to realize that the pain and hardship that he had endured as a child was now possibly going to lead to something better. Flenix would move towards Aryes and would speak softly to the old leader of House Targaryan and basically promise himself to the members of House Targaryan until such point that their bloodline was spent, and thus become the first of the Dovah sworn to Dragonstone.

The Stormrain Dragon

Flenix would give rise to everything our dreams had ever created. After Flenix arrived it was as if the world was finally open to us. Nothing was impossible anymore.
Rhaegar Targaryan

Following his playing of the harp this first time unknown to the Targaryans the playing of the harp was a part of a spell that had been placed on the dragon egg held by House Stormrain and with the playing of the harp the Stormrain egg would hatch to the shock of House Stormrain. With the egg hatching the leadership of House Stormrain would move quickly into action with Aegon Stormrain II. preparing the long awaited ritual to discover a dragonborn among their number so that one of them would be able to ride the dragon and thus return themselves to the ranks of Lucerne.

Expansion

Recovering the lost

While Flenix recovered the Targaryans decided they needed to get back their heirlooms they had lost during their stay in Koenisburg, and Karhold. In order to do this they decided on a two fold plan. The first stage would be to gather money through the use of Rhaegar Targaryan winning tournaments throughout Westros. The second stage was the larger production of the minerals in the mines northwest of Dragonstone. With both of these plans they believed they could quickly procure vast wealth which they could use to retreive their old heirlooms, as well as providing for supplies, and equipment that would improve Dragonstone itself.

War of Five Armies

Rhaegar Targaryan was a man of substance. Sometimes men of substance make for great allies. They give you the idea that you could follow them anywhere and no matter what the odds they will always prevail in the end. Sometimes this is true. Other times they just conquer the land until finally someone stabs them in their sleep.
Mika Bolten

With their attack grinding to a halt under the seemingly endless numbers of the Trollocs it was the decision of Rhaegar to try and find assistence where he could. Using gold from his supplies Daemon Blackfyre and Kursten North were able to recruit nearly two thousand mercenary from Pontus of which gave them cause to reengage the offensive. This would be countered when forces from Isengard begin to appear on the front, making it apparent that Sauron and Saruman had conspired with the Trollocs to stop Dragonstone in its tracks.

The Orcs and Beasts flooded the land in numbers that seemed like the stuff of legend.
Rhaegar Targaryan

With the alliance of the two dark groups they were able to push the Dragonstone forces back further and further until eventually they were only a few miles from Red Keep. Sending word to Visery's to prepare the defences Rhaegar would return to Dragonstone briefly where he gathered the other two dragons that were old enough for battle and flew east of Red Keep. Leaving the defence of the fortress to his family he awaited the attack of the Mordor-Isengard forces before he struck with near complete shock. The Mordor and Isengard forces would push against Red Keep with nearly forty thousand Trollocs, and ten thousand Orcs and humans of Isengard and quickly put the castle under siege. Viseryan, and Red Wind would mount a spectacular defence of the western wall of which killed thousands with the loss of very few defenders, and when the full scale attack was launched Rhaegar finally had his moment. Using all three of his dragons he was able to defeat the Trolloc-Isengard army at Red Keep and bloodied their forces quite badly during the First Battle of Red Keep. The Trolloc-Isengard forces suffered extreme losses as the dragons chased them from the field burning their army nearly completely, but the Dragonstone forces would be unable to push their advantage when word came that Deneyres had suffered a near massacre against the Nordlings. Rhaegar at this point would be forced to go westward when his sister's attacks begin to fail due to serious resistence from the Kingdom of Nordling. Travelling westward he brought with him two of the dragons leaving only one dragon on the western front. Before he left he sent a letter to William Lovie detailing him the situation and how the dynamics were changing.

Dear Honorable King William Lovie, Third of your name,
I hope this letter finds you in better condition then it finds my forces. After initial success we have met stiff resistence in the form of a Beastmen, and Mordor alliance. I am aware of your continued assault on Bolten, and do not wish to ask you for assistene, instead I bid you tell me whether an alliance with the Elves of High Forest, or the Kingdom of Gondor may prove to have any hope to it. If any of this seems possible please make me aware of the manner in which to contact the Elves for I am in great need of assistence.
Forever the friend and ally of Lucerne

- Rhaegar Targaryan

Tyrande Whisperwood would become involved in conflict against the Trollocs east of High Forest in the war called the First War of Five Armies. After alligning themselves somewhat with the humans of Dragonstone under the advise of Lucerne the forces of High Forest found the humans being pushed further back following the involvment of larger numbers of Trollocs, the forces of Isengard from the south, and finally the small forces of Bolten also in the area. Tyrande would lead the rangers into the Battle of Sodistin Mountain where the forces of Dragonstone, and High Forest would battle against a massive army of Trollocs, and Isengard allies, of which the battle would all but decide the fate of that region.

Battle of Sodistin

During the Battle the Sindar Elves would mass themselves into position behind the army of Dragonstone where their longer range could be of better use, and thus during the battle the Elves reigned incredible amounts of arrows on the Trollocs and Orcs. The army of Dragonstone consisted of two dragons in the form of Beleyrian, and Bevarion of whom were forced this time to deal with large numbers of Bat Riders sent from Mordor of whom kept them from destroying the massive Trolloc, Orcish force. The main Dragonstone army numbered nearly sixty thousand and was far more disiplened, and prepared then the opposng forces but their superior numbers gave them the ability to surround the army around the village of Sodistan. Despite all of this the numbers of Trollocs and Orcs shattered the Dragonstone center and forced a unorganized retreat where by much of the Dragonstone army was killed, and many of the High Forest army also fell. Following the battle Tyrande would regroup her forces near Red Keep and instead of staying with her new allies she pulled her forces back and retreated to High Forest to the discust of Rhaegar Targaryan who cursed Tyrande as a traitor.

House Nighting was a powerul Vandal house within Tree Hill which dealt in trading of the darker and more illigal activites of Tree Hill. House Nighting came into conflict with William Lovieover their practices and they lost their wealth following this, and were subsequently destroyed during the Civil War in Lucerne .

House Nighting came to power following the rise of their Lord House in House Targaryan and under the Targaryans they grew wealthy through the control of brotherl's and other businesses of this type. When House Targaryan was driven out they became the vassal of House Scott but their business remained the same. During the Fall of Tree Hill they were less hit then nearly any house in the entire city, and thus when the city was liberated they returned nearly as strong as when they had left. Their power was crushed when Andrew Lovie rejected their selling of slaves, and as such they lost much of their business causing them to join the True Sons of Lucerne, where during the tail end of the Civil War they attempted to destroy House Scott but failures from their commanders led to House Scott defeating them and having the entire house executed.
