I betrayed a brother I loved, so that I could save my people. I was raped, and beaten for five years. I have spent the last two years fighting a war I knew from the start I could not win, just for a chance at something better. Do not question my resolve to save my people.
Melisande Antic

Melisande Antic is the daughter of Theoderic, and Marja Antic making her a member of and the current lord and matriarch of House Antic.

During the Fourth Korcani Gepid Rebellion it was Melisande who was captured and held as a prisoner during the Killing of House Antic as she had unknowingly given information to Flemethian cultist Manfred Bootsma who had then launched the massacre of her family leaving only her elder brother alive. Manfred would hold his pregnant lover Melisande Antic prisoner throughout the course of the Fourth Korcani Gepid Rebellion, and during this time as prisoner the two rebuilt themselves to a certain extent with Manfred coming close to turning against his family to protect Melisande. Following Melisande once again being tricked by a conflicted Manfred her brother was killed at the Fourth Battle of Troplitz and with this she became the sole remaining member of her family left alive as her betrayal of her remaining brother purchased her survival, and thus she was named by the Korcani garrison as the new Lord of House Antic. Following rising to the position of Dutchess of Gepidia she would become a target of Ottfried Steensma of whom was the Lord Commander of Gepidia, and this would eventually lead to Ottfried raping Melisande following her attempting to improve the lot of the Gepid of the capital. Melisande would suffer a miscarriage following a beating from Ottfried and this broke her emotionally leading to her murdering Ottfried and bringing her forces to join the rebellion of Manfred Alberda. Following defeat in the Fifth Korcani-Gepid Rebellion it was Melisande who led the Gepid into a near full scale retreat from Gepidia and southward where they were followed by the forces of Bosnia, and the Korcani Wilds. Melisande would be the sole survivor of the Gepid Rebel Council following the Battle of Bogatic, but was unable to join her people in crossing into the Thunderlands of Valhalla instead she was captured by Milik Vladic of the Serbian Kingdom and brought behind the walls of Bogatic alongside her honor guard and hundreds of also trapped Gepid.
