Serana is the daughter of a Seeker Guardsmen captain named Caener and a noble women he fell in love with of whom was killed for adultry.
Serana was born the first and eventually only child of Caener and Lady Elivha Frulentia of whom had faked the pregnancy as being her husbands baby but once she was born with blond hair it became clear that it was not and she would be executed by her husband for adultry and Serana was going to be drown as well but Caener kidnapped her and since noone knew he was the father noone knew to look for him. Following the kidnapping Caener would go about raising his daughter near Estreglen where he is assisted during the initial years by his beloved and the mother of his daughter, but she eventually dies of sickness leaving him alone with only his daugther Serena. After years of just the two living together as a simple family of fishermen Caener would be discovered after an extensive search by his beloved loves niece and she would take on the role of helping Caener and Serana becoming extremely close to the two taking on the role of becoming Caener's second daughter due to her own father's distance.
